However, things got beyond worse yesterday when members of Karni Sena, a Rajput caste organisation protested on the sets of the film at Jaigarh fort and attacked Bhansali.
Padmavati, a historical drama, is based on the story of Queen Padmini, who famously refused to submit to Emperor Alauddin Khilji when he arrived at the Chittorgarh fort with his army. The queen killed herself along with scores of other women before he stormed the fort. Protestors reportedly from Rajput Karni Sena disrupted the ongoing shoot, claiming that Bhansali’s film portrays their Rani Padmavati in a bad light Potesters said that , they had warned the filmmaker against presenting wrong facts.
So the director has to take care of not presenting wrong facts about the history. Since yesterday, Bollywood has come out strongly in Mr Bhansali’s support and called for strict police action.
