Why isn’t there the image of tiger on 2000 rupee note?

West Bengal’s CM, Mamata Banerjee has raised a new dispute. Royal Bengal tiger, national animal of India has not been printed on the 2000 rupee note, says Ms. Banerjee adding that it is not just missing by accident but by design.

“Everyone is aware about the national animal, Bengal tiger. Elephant, national bird Peacock, national flower Lotus were specially printed on the 2000 rupee note. But, wasn’t there place to print our national animal? Does only RBI logo has the image of tiger? ‘Elephant is our national heritage’ says Modi. But, he doesn’t show interest toward national animal.” disputes Mamata banerjee.
