“And we start #DoBaaraa… With all our love to the haters,” Kashyap wrote.

The filmmaker and the actress have witnessed support as well as faced flak over the past few days, ever since there were tax raids in their respective homes. The IT department later said that manipulation worth crores was found in their financial statements.

Kangana to Taapsee over tax raid jibe: ‘You will always remain sasti’

Mumbai, March 6 (Telugu bullet) The war between Kangana Ranaut and Taapsee Pannu just heated up on Saturday.

It all began when Taapsee took a jibe at the recent tax raid at her place and stated that, considering she was quizzed about a bungalow she never owned in Paris and a five-crore receipt, she didn’t “so sasti anymore”. This was in reference to a comment made by actress Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli in the past saying Taapsee was “sasti” (cheap).

“You will always remain sasti because you are sab rapists ka feminist… your ring master Kashyap was raided in 2013 as well for tax chori… government official’s report is out if you aren’t guilty go to court against them come clean on this … come on sasti,” tweeted Kangana as a retort.

Kangana’s tweet came after Taapsee wrote earlier in the day: “3 days of intense search of 3 things primarily 1. The keys of the “alleged” bungalow that I apparently own in Paris. Because summer holidays are around the corner 2. The ‘alleged’ receipt worth 5 crores to frame n keep for future pitching coz I’ve been refused that money before 3. My memory of the 2013 raid that happened with me according to our honorable finance minister P.S – ‘not so sasti’ anymore.”

The houses of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and his partners from his production house Phantom Films as well as Taapsee were raided by the IT department earlier this week.

A search was also conducted on the premises of filmmaker Vikas Bahl, and executives of Kwan Talent management. There was a report that stated that income tax authorities found discrepancies and manipulation of income, running into crores.

Telugu composer MM Srilekha: ‘Male ego comes in your way’

Hyderabad, March 6 (Telugu bullet)  MM Srilekha is the only female music composer of note in the Telugu film industry right now, having scored hit songs in films such as “Dharma Chakram”, “Moodu Mukkalaata” and “Preminchu”. She feels that music from Telangana always appeals to people all over India.

“Telugu music has been loved by everyone in the country. It is not new. The songs are such that people like either the lyrics or the music in general. It has a melodious base. So many tracks have become famous and tunes have been remixed. It is ever evolving,” she said.

“Unofficially I have composed for 11 years but on record, it has been just about eight years. I have grown up in a family where my father is into music and direction. So, I have grown up in that atmosphere. Becoming a music director came naturally to me,” says the music director, who is a cousin of music composer M.M. Keeravani and director SS Rajamouli.

While she thoroughly enjoys her job, Srilekha does highlight the challenges female musicians have to face in the country.

“It’s is a male-dominated industry and you have to face so many things. Time and again, the male ego comes in your way, be it from the director, the manager, producer or the actor. Everybody shows their ego to the music director, especially female directors. Generally, females are considered very sensitive and they forget that we are also technicians. You end up asking people, “why are you shouting at me”, “why are you calling me late”, when there is no reason for them to call,” she says.

The composer adds: “There should not be barriers. You have to cooperate with the director irrespective of gender. The orchestra people are all men and you have to give them instructions all the time. There is a constant hassle to convince the director and audience and you have to struggle and be thorough.”

On the occasion of Woman’s Day, the music director will participate as a panelist for The Indian Performing Arts Right Society Limited (IPRS) campaign called, “#HERmusic. She, along with other panelists, will discuss the growth of female musicians in the industry and the challenges being faced.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be part of “Hello World” with Rita Wilson and Claudia Leitte. Rita and Claudia are two women I have so much respect for and it was really cool to see how our styles complement each other. This song is meant to inspire, and I can’t wait to see how the “Hello World Movement” takes off,” said Raja Kumari.

Co-written by Wilson and Raja among others, the song has a music video that features an international cast of influencers from 15 countries and is directed by Rebecca Dorfman.

‘Nadiyon paar’ singer Rashmeet: Remakes if done beautifully, sound good

New Delhi, March 6 (Telugu bullet) Singer Rashmeet Kaur is on cloud nine following the success of her song, “Nadiyon paar”, a recreation of the popular Shamur track “Let the music play” she recorded for the upcoming horror-comedy “Roohi”, starring Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor, and Varun Sharma.

“You always expect a mixed reaction from the audience for a remake but I think this one is blasting everywhere and it’s overwhelming to see the kind of response it’s getting. (It is) trending at number one on YouTube ever since it released. I’m extremely grateful,” she tells us.

For the 26-year-old singer, remaking a classic isn’t a bad idea, but aIf remakes are done beautifully with a different take or new sounds, then they can actually sound good the same time she “personally feels that there’s so much talent out there that we don’t have to make remakes”.

“Remaking folk and Sufi always work, depending on how good the remake sounds, because people want to hear different interpretations from their favorite artists. It’s just like covering a song, but with your style, your improvisations, and swag in it. Those factors decide how good the response can be. If remakes are done beautifully with a different take or new sounds, then they can actually sound good,” she continues.

Rashmeet had no idea that she was going to record this song until she went inside the recording studio, and it took her “around two hours” to record the entire song. “You only get to know about that after entering the studio. The moment I heard the track I was blown away,” she says. So naturally, there were a few jitters when she was recording the song.

“Nadiyon paar is a classic. Yes, it’s always risky when it comes to remaking a song, but I’m so happy and grateful that I got to sing this classic as a remake and an authentic banger of a track,” she signs off.

Katrina Kaif looks forward in 2021

New Delhi, March 6 (Telugu bullet) With game nights, workout videos, and fun with family and friends, Katrina Kaif’s social media platform has been followed avidly by fans. The actress recently spotted in PepsiCo India Slice’s newly launched TVC which encourages consumers to take the ‘Sabse Thick Sabse Tasty’ challenge thereby reaffirming its position as the thickest and tastiest mango drink in India. life caught up with the star to talk about the shoot, her days in lockdown, and what she’s looking forward to in 2021.

Q: How does it feel to be back to work after months of lockdown?

A: As much as I have learned and grown internally during the lockdown I really did miss the hustle and bustle of my job. While the lockdown was critical at that point, I made sure I spent quality time on things I rarely get to do, but now that work has gradually begun with all the necessary precautions, I cannot be happier. The joy of filming is irreplaceable.

Q: Do you feel there is a difference between shooting in a pre and in a post-Covid world?

A: There surely is a difference as maintaining social distancing and various other precautionary norms are a must unlike before. But all the sets I’ve been on have made sure that the crews’ safety is a priority which makes it a very safe working place, giving us artists the creative liberty needed.

Q: International travel is on standstill… did you manage to take a holiday or a getaway and how was it?

A: I actually made a trip to the Maldives during the pandemic for the shoot of Slice’s new ‘Sabse Thick Sabse Tasty’ campaign. I had mixed feeling when I was getting ready for the trip — on one hand I was excited about the shoot post the lockdown and on the other hand, I was nervous about travelling in the ‘new normal’ and ensured I took all the right precautions, throughout the trip — COVID tests, ensuring social distancing, using face masks. Shooting in Maldives was such an exhilarating experience and it was one of the best shoots I had.

Q: Women’s Day is around the corner, the lockdown has been especially tough on women, how do you feel they should celebrate this Women’s Day?

A: I feel everyone has their own struggles to deal with, men, women, kids as well as senior citizens. The lockdown has been challenging for everyone. We should be so grateful for our lives of privilege and these times have been really hard for so many people. However, I’m glad to see how women have realised the importance of “me time” and hope they continue to take time for themselves even post the lockdown.

Q: What are you looking forward to in 2021 and what is the one lesson of 2020 you will carry with you forever?

A: While 2020 has reminded me about the joys of little things, 2021 is a very exciting year for me as well. I’m thrilled about the work I’m doing and cannot wait to share it with the world.

Q: Last and certainly not least why is Slice your go-to drink in the summer?

A: My association with Slice goes back a long time — it gives me pure, indulgent joy to drink Slice. Slice is my favorite mango drink and I am beyond excited to launch the new ‘Sabse Thick Sabse Tasty’ campaign that exudes my confidence in the brand. I cannot wait for my fans to take the taste challenge and discover the pleasure of drinking the thick and tasty Slice themselves.

Speaking on the new campaign, Anuj Goyal, Associate Director, Tropicana and Slice, PepsiCo India said,”Consumers have expressed an immense love for Slice which is a testament to our confidence in the product. However, we wanted to take a step further and encourage our consumers to take the new Sabse Thick Sabse Tasty blind taste challenge to bolster Slice’s position as the tastiest and thickest mango drink in India. We are excited to reach out to our consumers this summer through this campaign featuring the incomparable Katrina Kaif.”

The TVC film, set against the beautiful backdrop of a beach, shows a brand ambassador posing the ultimate taste challenge to a fan. The blind taste challenge set off by Katrina kaif urges him to make a choice and take up the taste challenge to discover the thickest mango drink in the market.
