Facebook on Thursday announced that it has redesigned its Settings page to make it easier for users to find and change privacy and other settings with simplified options.

“As part of our ongoing efforts to improve people’s experience on Facebook, we have redesigned the Facebook Settings page to make our tools easier to find. We have streamlined the layout, while keeping all the previous settings,” the company said in a blogpost.

“Whether it’s managing the ads people see, adjusting sharing settings, or curating an audience for posts, people should not have to think too hard about where to start. That’s why we have reduced the number of categories and renamed them to more closely match people’s mental models, it added.

Settings are now grouped into six broad categories, each containing several related settings — Account, Preferences, Audience and Visibility, Permissions, Your Information, and Community Standards and Legal Policies.

The company also said that it has relocated several standalone settings so that they live alongside related settings. For example, the News Feed setting, which previously lived in a smaller category of its own, now lives under Preferences where it is grouped with similar settings.

“We have also made some improvements to the settings search function, making it easier to find the settings you need if you don’t know the exact name or location of the setting you are looking for,” the company said

The Facebook Settings redesign is rolling out for Android, iOS, mobile web and FB Lite.

‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ actress Shalini Pandey opens up on her transformation

Shalini Pandey, who is all set to make her Bollywood debut in the Ranveer Singh starrer “Jayeshbhai Jordaar”, says she has always been confident of her physique and never paid attention to what people were saying about it.

Shalini, who shot to fame with her performance in “Arjun Reddy”, says that she has never felt the pressure to look a certain way for the industry.

She said: “I have always been confident of my physique and I never really paid attention to what people were saying about it. I loved whichever phase I was in physically and never really put pressure on myself to be a certain body type.”

She admits that women are unnecessarily scrutinised for how they look.

“I feel women are subjected to a lot of pressure to be a certain way physically and that’s not right. So, I don’t really look at this as a transformation. I look at it as a phase that has been achieved for how I needed to be seen on screen for my role. However, I’m happy about how I’m looking right now and feeling good in my head too,” Shalini said.

She shared that she has been health conscious all her life.

The actress said: “I have mostly been a healthy eater almost all my life. I was always into sports and I started swimming since the 5th standard. I was into a lot of sports actually like badminton, volleyball and others. I was quite an outdoor kind of a kid. So yes, I have been a fitness freak ever since.”

Talking about her weight loss, Shalini said: “For this particular weight loss, I got on a meal plan and luckily I was doing a film which required an immense amount of dance rehearsals that added to my weight loss.

“So, there is nothing specific that I did to shed my weight but I feel the meal plan worked really well. I was dancing for around four hours daily and that’s a lot of cardio which helped me a lot.”

Shalini is excited for her film “Jayeshbhai Jordaar” releasing on the big screen.

She says she is “relishing” the excitement to see her film release in theatres and isn’t feeling the pressure of expectations. Ranveer has hailed Jayeshbhai to be a “miracle script”.

As an artiste, Shalini is comfortable to always alter her body type to enhance her on-screen performances.

She said: “I’m an actor who invests a lot of energy and passion into every project that I pick. I want my performances to speak for itself and I would push myself into doing anything to deliver a performance that will hopefully be noticed and talked about. I have no issues with altering my body type if the script and my director wants me to look a certain way on screen.”

The actress shared that there can be immense hormonal changes while transforming your body.

“You are putting your body under a lot of pressure when you are adding or shedding weight. However, I’d still go for it if the script demands it because if my character is required to be looking a certain way then why not. It will only help me deliver the most authentic performance on screen,” she added.

Benny Dayal’s Bolly Funk music inspired by MJ, Stevie Wonder

Benny Dayal is known to be an experimental singer as he creates unique music scores.

The singer-songwriter will be performing for the upcoming music show ‘Unacademy Unwind’ with MTV on the theme Bolly Funk with his band Funktuation.

Prominent names in the music industry like Lucky Ali, Kailash Kher, Sonu Nigam, Badshah and Papon, among others, will also be part of the show.

Elaborating on his participation in the digital show, Benny told in an interview: “I’m really happy to be a part of Unacademy Unwind with MTV because it’s something really new. Normally we artistes are part of so many shows where it’s just about our music in rearranged versions. Here, artistes get to represent a new genre that fits their personality, body of work, and repertoire. I feel this is a brilliant initiative.”

Benny is a prominent multilingual playback singer. After being noticed by A.R. Rahman during a stage show, he started his career in Hindi films with the song “Pappu Can’t Dance” (Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na) in 2008.

Talking about the experience of creating music for the show, he said: “I got to perform with my band and my horn section Funkuation on the Horn Flakes, it was a brilliant collaboration together. We get to do our thing, which we do normally. But I wrote new versions of two of my Bollywood hits and one of my originals. It was a fab experience.”

The singer has popular numbers like “Kaise mujhe” (“Ghajini”), “Rehna Tu” (“Dilli- 6”), “Daru Desi” (“Cocktail”) and “Lat Lag Gayi” (“Race 2”), among many other superhit Bollywood tracks to his credit.

Benny shared that the mood of the soundtracks in the show will be based on a genre called Bolly Funk.

He said: “It’s bringing Bollywood and my funk inspirations and influencers into Bollywood music. The tone of the performance will be highly energetic, and at the same time, it will be a little cheeky and funny. It’s not going to be mellow at all. Of course, we have great melodies in the songs I’m singing, but besides that, it’s going to be super high energy.”

To make the performance unique, Benny mentions the use of a mix of varied instruments in the show.

“There are a lot of different instruments used in the performances. I have played the ukulele in one of my songs. We have bass guitars, drums, lamp percussions, trombones, trumpets, saxophones, and some keyboards. We also have a horn section with three members of a horn section called Horn Flakes,” he said.

Benny Dayal’s band Funktuation’s compositions are a mix of alternative funk, alternative pop, disco, soul, and R&B and are mostly performed in Tamil, Hindi, and English.

Talking about the soul of the band, he said: “The inspiration behind Funktuation is expression through funk, soul, hip hop and R&B kind of sound. We love funk, it’s the originator that came before hip hop and everything.”

He added: “Funk music from so many years has been a huge inspiration in my life. It started with Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder, bringing that inspiration and that kind of sound with Bollywood is what we decided for the show. The inspiration is to express through funk music. Everybody thinks funk music is just groovy but there is the groove in many situations and emotions, that’s the inspiration of Funktuation.”

Unacademy Unwind with MTV will start on August 13.
