Rajasthan launches portal to connect workers with jobs in state

Date:

The Rajasthan government has launched a centralized manpower repository ‘Raj Kaushal’, which is the first of its kind portal in the country to connect migrant workers with job opportunities in their home state, officials said on Monday.

This centralized system ensures jobs for migrants which will also help to start industries in the state, they said.

Along with nearly 13 lakh migrants who have come back home to the state following the Covid crisis, the portal has a database of more than 50 lakh people categorized by their skillset and work experience. It also holds information of over 11 lakh registered business institutions in the state that can be a potential employer for these workers. Many of these businesses are open for hiring as many of their previous workers from other states have returned home.

“It is the futuristic vision of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, that along with addressing the issue of employment for migrants, the state has developed a centralized system for providing all citizens better access for job opportunities available in the state,” state Labour Minister Tikaram Jully said.

The pandemic and subsequent lockdown disrupted the industrial process and job scenario across the country. Raj Kaushal, while intending to restore a balance in the state, also holds possibilities for generating information and trends that can help the government draft better skill and industrial policies, officials said.

“Raj Kaushal app acts as a bridge between industry and laborers, to improve the availability of opportunities and empower the economy. Government of Rajasthan will ensure that the demands of the industry will be met,” state Labour and Employment Secretary Niraj K. Pawan said.

The workers can log in using a mobile phone generated OTP, and the data of migrant laborers filled in form-4 while entering the state is being regularly updated in the system and will be available on the registration page after OTP validation. In order to make the portal, even more user-friendly, the site has been designed in Hindi.

The portal has details of 13,13,679 migrants workers, 22,33,233 registered construction workers, 3,37,724 Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood Development Corporation-trained individuals and 1,21,253 ITI-trained individuals, amongst others. There are 11,18,810 employers also registered on the portal.
