Sekhar Kammula’s Heartwarming Gesture: Donates ₹2 Lakhs to Farmer Who Lost Wedding Savings in Fire
Director Sekhar Kammula, known for his emotional and thought-provoking films, recently shared a touching personal anecdote during promotions for his upcoming film Kubera. The filmmaker revealed how he extended financial help to a farmer in distress—a story that’s winning hearts across the Telugu states.
After a brief hiatus post-Love Story, Sekhar Kammula is returning with Kubera, a highly anticipated film featuring Kollywood superstar Dhanush, national crush Rashmika Mandanna, and Tollywood veteran Akkineni Nagarjuna in pivotal roles. With the film set for release on June 20, the team is in full swing with promotional activities.
During one of the promotional interviews, Kammula recalled a deeply emotional incident that happened four years ago. He was asked about the financial help he extended to a farmer’s family.
“A poor farmer had saved money for his daughter’s wedding. Unfortunately, that money was destroyed in a fire. When I heard about it, I was overwhelmed with emotion. It was devastating to think that the money — earned with so much hardship — had turned to ash. I could feel the pain of that father. That’s when I decided to help and donated ₹2 lakh,” said Kammula.
This emotional revelation has touched fans and the general public alike, showing another side of the director—one that extends beyond cinema to humanity.
With Kubera gearing up for release, this heartwarming story has added an extra layer of admiration for Sekhar Kammula, not just as a filmmaker but as a compassionate human being.
