Shilpa Shetty’s note to encourage fans: Believe it will get better from here

Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra took to Instagram on Monday to share a motivating message for her fans.

She posted a picture that shows her meditating in the mountains, with the text: “Overthinking will destroy your happiness and your mood. It’ll make everything worse than it actually is. Take a deep breath, exhale and have faith. What’s meant to be, will be.”

In the caption, she wrote about how we must try to help those who we can. She also spoke about the importance of believing that the situation will get better with time.

“We’re all reading about the actual situation around us and it is absolutely devastating. This news plays on the mind all the time and leads the mind to very dark places. But then, there are posts and news about complete strangers helping people desperately in need of help. People who are cooking meals for COVID patients living alone, volunteers driving down to people needing medical assistance, and doctors providing information and guidance via online sessions. So reassuring! If we can do something for someone, we definitely must! But if not, don’t panic excessively. Tune out for a little while, inhale deeply, and believe that it will get better from here. Live in the NOW. Together, we WILL overcome this. We will walk through this time towards a better tomorrow. Faith and hope are what we need right now,” she wrote.

The actress will be seen in “Hungama 2”, the sequel to the 2003 film “Hungama”. The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Meezaan Jaaferi, and Pranitha Subhas. Shilpa will also be seen in the film “Nikamma”, starring Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia.

Soundarya Sharma: Challenging to play de-glam role at start of career

Actress Soundarya Sharma plays a girl next door on season two of the web series “Raktanchal”, and says it is a challenge to essay such a de-glamorized role at the start of her career.

Based on true events, the story casts her as a simple homemaker who weaves her way into the world of politics because of the circumstances she had to face to protect her family.

“I play the character of Rolly Rai. This is a simple girl next door. It’s set in the 1980s. Season one was an introduction and in season two, I take over. I play the female protagonist,” she declares.

“This is about how this simple girl weaves her path into the world of politics to save her family and loved ones from getting completely destroyed. This is her journey and how she powers herself and her loved ones. She has to step into dirty politics to protect her family,” Soundarya added.

About the show, she added: “It has an old charm and it takes a hard line. It’s very challenging to play de-glamorous at the beginning of my career. I sat with the makers to design this look so that it looks very unconventional and not how we have seen this young 22-23-year-old girl. It’s inspired by true events so we can’t play around too much with the character,” she said.

“Since it’s set in purvanchal so it has got that UP touch to it,” she summed up.

Kangana: People using oxygen should pledge to work on improving air quality

Actress Kangana Ranaut on Monday urged people to plant more trees even as the demand for oxygen goes up in the country with rising Covid-19 cases. She says people using oxygen should pledge to work on improving air quality.

“Everybody is building more and more oxygen plants, getting tons and tons of oxygen cylinders, how are we compensating for all the oxygen that we are forcefully drawing from the environment? It seems we learned nothing from our mistakes and catastrophes they cause #PlantTrees’,” Kangana wrote on Twitter.

She added: “Along with announcing more and more oxygen for humans, governments must announce relief for nature also, people who are using this oxygen should also pledge to work on improving the air quality, for how long we are going to be miserable pests only taking never giving back to nature?”

She said that if life forms start disappearing from the earth’s surface it would affect the fertility of the soil.

“Remember any other life if it disappears from earth even microbes or insects it will affect the fertility of the soil and Mother Earth’s health, she will miss them but if humans disappear Earth will only and only flourish, if you aren’t her lover or child, you are just unnecessary #PlantTrees,” Kangana said.

Right from thrift stores to second-hand shopping, I’d like to encourage people to indulge in these practices and make a difference,” Shweta said.

The actress treats her clothes with a lot of love and cares to ensure they are not torn or damaged.

“The problem is that everyone thinks someone else will save the world. It’s time to be that someone. If we all do our little bit, the world will be in a better place. I’d also like to tell people that even when it comes to sourcing for shoots, we try our best to cut down on new things,” she added.

In the upcoming web series, the thriller “Escaype Live”, Shweta wears her own footwear.

“For my character in Escape Live, I’m wearing my own footwear as opposed to buying new ones because if there’s something that already fits, I think it’s really unnecessary to purchase new ones,” she said.

On social media, too, the actress says that she doesn’t engage in topics that can have an adverse effect on young minds.

“That makes it easier for me as a person to not be very polarised or critical of certain things or go out of my way to lambast something I don’t agree with or trivialise or be insensitive towards people whose lives I don’t understand,” she added.

Actor Pavail Gulati is very worried about how animals are managing at a time the country battles the deadly second wave of Covid. He said he has been feeding strays and also trying to supply food to feeders.

“I am not so worried about pets as much as I am worried about all the strays and homeless animals. As lockdown began, my thoughts turned to them. I have been feeding cats and dogs locally and also provide food and other resources to feeders who love animals. I am trying to do my bit as much as I can,” he told IANS.

He added: “I am making sure that I do everything so that no animal sleeps hungry at night!”

The actor said that he has heard stories of people abandoning pets during times as these, and urged people not to do so.

Adil Hussain: Didn’t want to act in films, most films didn’t inspire me

Actor Adil Hussain says before he was offered the 2010 hit “Ishqiya”, he never harbored a desire to enter Bollywood. He admits not caring much about the films being made at the time.

“My first film in the Hindi language was “Ishqiya”. I never went to Bombay to look for work in films. I didn’t want to act in films, most of the films didn’t inspire me. I did not watch them or like them, apart from a very few,” he told IANS.

The actor recalls “Ishqyia” director Abhishek Chaubey had to convince him to come on board.

“When Ishqiya came to me, Abhishek Chaubey flew from Bombay to Delhi to convince me to act in his film. He asked me why I was not in Bombay, and I said that I don’t like the films and so why should I be in them. So, he said that this was a very different kind of film. He told me the story and I loved the story,” he says.

Hussain says that for him the story of a film makes all the difference.

“I don’t have a criterion but a basic standard. I grew up with great stories in Assam, stories by great writers. I went to NSD and have done plays across the globe, of the greatest playwrights. If I read the script and it sounds mundane or uni-dimensional, then it doesn’t inspire me to act, even if they pay a lot of money. I make sure that a film has some meaning and is close to my heart, I believe in it, it is written well, woven well and the director is able to put across the story which he wants to make,” he says.

Hussain has been seen in films such as “English Vinglish”, “Life Of Pi” and “Lootera”. His latest release was “The Illegal”, which dropped on OTT recently.
