Fire breaks out in a business facility in Hyderabad.
A massive fire erupted in a commercial complex in Habsiguda, Hyderabad causing panic in the area. The fire started in a restaurant on the second floor of the four-story building and quickly spread to a garment showroom on the first floor. Thankfully, there were no casualties reported, and firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control using ten fire engines. However, thick smoke continued to emanate from the building.
As a precautionary measure, the police closed down an adjacent petrol bunk, and vehicular traffic on the busy road connecting Uppal to Secunderabad was disrupted due to the incident. Senior officials from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) rushed to the spot to conduct an investigation.
This incident adds to a series of accidents in Secunderabad in recent months. Just a day before, a garment godown in the Hasan Nagar area of the city outskirts caught fire, resulting in the complete destruction of the godown. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby houses.
In the past months, Secunderabad has witnessed other fire-related accidents, including a garment shop fire in Palika Bazar on July 9, a massive fire in a multi-story building that killed six people on March 15, and a garment store fire that claimed three lives on January 19. In September of the previous year, eight people lost their lives and nine others were injured in a hotel fire caused by an explosion in an e-bike showroom located in the basement of a five-storied building near the Passport Office.
