Akhil Akkineni

Akhil Akkineni, born on April 8, 1994, in San Jose, California, U.S., is the son of Indian actors Nagarjuna Akkineni and Amala Akkineni. He began his journey in the film industry as a child artist in the children’s film “Sisindri” (1994), for which he received a Filmfare Special Award

Akhil’s debut as a lead actor came in 2015 with the Telugu fantasy drama film “Akhil,” directed by V. V. Vinayak. In the movie, he portrayed the character of a young and carefree orphan named Akhil, opposite Sayesha Saigal as the female lead. Akhil underwent stunt workshops with his personal trainer Kicha and attended workshops in Thailand for two months to prepare for his role. While the film received mixed reviews and had a disappointing performance at the box office, Akhil’s performance earned him the Filmfare Best Debut Actor award.

Akhil appeared alongside Nidhhi Agerwal in the romantic comedy “Mr. Majnu” (2019), directed by Venky Atluri. His other notable works include “Most Eligible Bachelor” (2021) and “Agent” (2023).
