The YCP government, which took over the newly formed government in AP, has had a tough time.
The World Bank has dropped a loan of Rs2100 crore for the construction of its capital Amravati. World bank’s loan withdrawal after the formation of the Jagan government is shocking everyone.
The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) Commissioner Dr P. Lakshminarasimham, however, clarified that there was no official word from the World Bank yet. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank(AIIB) would lend 1400 crores. Now AIIB may halt financing for the capital city.
Possibly, the change of government has given it second thoughts about the feasibility and the future of the project.
If further financing stops, Amaravati could become India’s largest incomplete infrastructure project.
