On Tuesday night in the western Baramulla district of Jammu & Kashmir, gunmen shot and seriously injured a police officer.
Ghulam Muhammad Dar, an off-duty police chief constable, suffered severe injuries. He was taken to the sub-district hospital in Tangmarg, where medical professionals pronounced him dead.
According to the police, Dar was ambushed by gunmen outside of his Wailoo Kralpora, a Baramulla hamlet. “Terrorists opened fire on him at close range. He passed away while being transported to the closest hospital, according to a police officer.
The previous three days saw suspected terrorists in the Valle shoot two police officers and an Uttar Pradesh seasonal worker. Two police officers died shortly after they were targeted, while one is receiving treatment in a hospital in Srinagar.
While playing cricket at Srinagar’s Idgah grounds on October 29, Masroor Ahmed Wani, a J&K police officer, was shot by a suspected terrorist and suffered serious injuries.
Mukesh Kumar, a seasonal laborer from Uttar Pradesh, was shot by terrorists in the Tumchi Nowpora region of the southern Pulwama district one day later on October 30. When he was brought to a neighboring hospital, the physicians declared him dead.
Manoj Sinha, the lieutenant governor of J&K, denounced these “despicable and cowardly terrorist attacks” and promised that those responsible will face consequences.
