Harish Rao Demands 50 lakh Compensation to Chemical Factory Blast Victims

Date:

Former Minister T Harish Rao has called for criminal action against SB Organics Limited for operating an expired reactor, following a chemical factory blast that claimed six lives. He demanded Rs 50 lakh ex gratia for victims’ families and government jobs, and Rs 25 lakh for the injured, criticizing both the government and company management for neglecting their responsibilities.

Rao visited MNR Medical College Hospital to meet the chemical factory blast injured victims and then SB Organics Limited to console the families of the deceased and injured. He alleges that the management’s use of an expired reactor caused the accident and accuses authorities of mishandling the aftermath, urging free treatment for the injured and support for transporting bodies.

He condemns the police for using force against victims’ families and pledges support, including financial assistance, while also criticizing the district administration, police, and SB Organics’ management for their negligence in providing relief.
