Date:

A man was detained by the Hyderabad Cybercrime police on Friday after they allegedly demanded money from women they harassed on social media.

Bhukya Ramesh posted derogatory remarks, altered photos and videos of women, and tagged various Twitter accounts. He also insisted that they pay a Rs. 50 deposit to end the harassment. According to a cyber crime official, “He asked them to stop harassing them by sending the money to his bank account and sharing screen shots of the same to his WhatsApp number.”

After a woman filed a complaint with the She Team, it was forwarded to the Cybercrime police, who opened a case and took Ramesh into custody.
