Tragic Electrocution Death of Youngster at Ganesh Chaturthi Pandal in Hyderabad:
The conclusion of Ganesh Chaturthi took a tragic turn when a 26-year-old individual, identified as Vemulla Hanuma, lost his life due to electrocution while setting up an iron frame at a pandal in BS Maktha, near Panjagutta Police Station in Hyderabad. Another person, Dasari Balaji, aged 21, suffered severe burns and is presently receiving medical treatment at a private hospital.
According to the police, the Sri Siddi Vinayaka Youth Association in BS Maktha had arranged a Ganesh pandal in their locality. As part of the pandal’s decorations, Hanuma and Balaji were in the process of erecting an iron frame covered with cloth.
While securing the frame to the pandal, an accidental contact occurred between a portion of the frame and the electrical cables connected to a transformer located a short distance away. Consequently, both individuals were electrocuted and sustained burn injuries.
Promptly, they were transported to a nearby private hospital, where Hanuma tragically succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Following a complaint filed by Hanuma’s brother, Gopi, the Panjagutta police initiated an investigation into the incident.
