Hyderabad Experiences Heavy Rainfall, IMD Releases Alert:
Severe rainfall accompanied by lightning and thunder occurred in various areas of the city starting late Sunday afternoon. The sky became overcast with dark clouds, prompting drivers to turn on their headlights well before dusk.
Meanwhile, the IMD (Indian Meteorological Department) has predicted similar weather conditions for the next three days and has issued a yellow alert. According to the IMD, this rainfall is the result of a trough extending from a cyclonic circulation over northwest Madhya Pradesh and the formation of a cyclonic circulation in the northwest Bay of Bengal.
Golconda and Musheerabad recorded the highest precipitation at 43 mm, followed by Saroornagar with 40 mm.
People caught in the rain sought shelter under the nearby metro rail viaduct, PVNR Expressway, flyovers, fuel stations, bus stops, roadside stalls, and shops. Many areas experienced significant flooding, making it challenging for drivers to navigate roads filled with potholes, while heavy streams of water added to their difficulties.
