Hyderabad is getting ready for some hot weather ahead, with the India Meteorological Department – Hyderabad (IMD-H) warning about a heatwave expected to hit the city by the end of March.
While the city has been feeling pretty hot lately, the temperatures have mostly stayed normal. But experts at IMD-H are saying that’s about to change. They predict that the temperatures will go up quite a bit soon.
Dr. A. Shravani, a scientist at IMD-H, said, “We might see temperatures going over 40 degrees Celsius by the end of March. There might be some light rain after March 21, which could bring some relief.”
On Tuesday, the city saw an average high temperature of 35.4 degrees Celsius, with humidity at 68 percent. Karwan felt the hottest, hitting 39.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Jubilee Hills at 38.9 degrees Celsius and Kapra at 38.6 degrees Celsius.
The latest forecast from IMD-H says that Hyderabad can expect temperatures to stay between 36 and 37 degrees Celsius for the next five days.
