Microsoft has added Bing to ChatGPT
Microsoft has announced that Bing Search will be integrated into OpenAI’s ChatGPT, enhancing the AI model’s ability to provide more relevant and potentially new responses. their search engine will serve as the default search experience for ChatGPT, enabling it to retrieve information from the internet and provide citations.
Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s head of consumer marketing, stated in a blog post that they are bringing Bing to ChatGPT to offer a world-class search engine and deliver more timely and up-to-date answers sourced from the web.
This new integration is initially rolling out to ChatGPT Plus subscribers and will be made available to free users soon through a plugin that brings the Microsoft search engine to ChatGPT. Previously, ChatGPT relied on individual plugins to access recent information.
In addition to the integration, Microsoft is also introducing updates to new plugins. They are creating a single platform for developers to develop and submit plugins for ChatGPT, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and other services. Microsoft in-chat plugin options will expand to include companies like Expedia, Zillow, and Klarna, facilitating targeted communication on topics such as travel and shopping.
Furthermore, the common plugin platform will be integrated natively into Microsoft Edge, which already includes Bing as its default search engine.
