At the Special Olympics, Modi congratulates Indian athletes.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended congratulations to the Indian athletes who participated in the Special Olympics World Games 2023 held in Berlin. India concluded the Games with an impressive tally of 202 medals, including 76 gold, 75 silver, and 51 bronze. PM Modi praised the contestants’ incredible success and emphasized that their achievements epitomize the spirit of inclusivity and commendable perseverance.
Former President Ram Nath Kovind also attended a felicitation ceremony for the contenders, where he expressed his elation at India’s performance, highlighting that Indian daughters won 89 out of the 202 medals. Kovind encouraged the Special Olympics contestants to continue their journey, setting high goals, and reminded them that they have the support of their nation.
He emphasized that the achievements of the Special Olympics contestants will forever be cherished, and he urged them to dream big and unleash the immense power within themselves.
