Fans upset as Kajal Aggarwal absent in ‘Acharya’ trailer

‘Acharya’ makers released the theatrical trailer of the movie a few days ago, which featured Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan.

Kajal Aggarwal, who is one of the female leads, was nowhere to be seen in the trailer, which has upset her fans.

Fans of Kajal, who expected to see her in the trailer, were disappointed by her absence. “In a 2.33-minute trailer, the makers didn’t care to show at least a glimpse of Kajal’s role, which isn’t fair,” one of her fans wrote.

“Is Kajal’s role in the movie cut?” asked another Twitter user. “Perhaps her role isn’t introduced to keep the suspense going?” asks one commenter.

Not only that, but Kajal Aggarwal, who has been very active on social media recently, chose not to share the ‘Acharya’ trailer.

There is widespread speculation in the film industry that all is not well between Chiranjeevi and Kajal Aggarwal after the release of the ‘Acharya trailer.

‘Acharya’ directed by Koratala Siva, is set to be released on April 29.

Pooja Hegde co-stars with Ram Charan, while Kajal Aggarwal co-stars with Chiranjeevi.

Ranbir-Alia wedding: Select few guests invited for nuptials

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are set to exchange wedding vows on Thursday reportedly at 2 p.m. in Vastu Apartments, Pali Hill area of Mumbai. The couple has been very private about their wedding and that reflects in the guest list.

As per media reports, only a handful of 30 to 50 guests, which includes Ranbir and Alia’s closest friends and family members have been invited for the star couple’s D-Day. The ‘baraat’ will start from the iconic Krishna Raj bungalow, which is currently under construction and will head to Ranbir’s Vastu Apartments.

The bungalow is named after Ranbir’s grandmother Krishna Raj. Prior to the ‘phera’ ceremony, Ranbir and Alia will also take part in a special pooja. Earlier, a video of Alia’s sister Shaheen Bhatt losing her cool on the paparazzi emerged on social media.

Shaheen slammed the shutterbugs as she arrived at Ranbir Kapoor’s Vastu building.

‘Show already telecast’: SC declines to stop streaming of ‘LockUpp’

The Supreme Court on Wednesday declined to entertain a plea seeking directions to Alt Balaji and its agents to restrain from exhibiting and publishing reality show “Lock Upp” on OTT and social media platforms.

The plea challenged a Telangana High Court order, which set aside the ad-interim injunction granted by the trial court against the release and publishing of the reality show, hosted by Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut.

A bench of Justices M.R. Shah and B.V. Nagarathna noted that the show has already been telecast, and granted liberty to the petitioner to move the trial court for expeditious hearing of its interim injunction application.

As the petitioner claimed that they came up with the story of “The Jail” and later, prepared a script with 22 celebrities, the top court said the high court has considered everything in detail and it cannot restrict the show at this stage.

Telling the petitioner’s counsel that the first episode has already come, the bench said: “This petition is virtually infructuous.”

Senior advocate C.S. Vaidyanathan, representing the petitioner, Prime Media, sought permission from the bench to withdraw the petition and submit an application for an early hearing of injunction application before the trial court.

“It will be open to the petitioner to move the trial court for expeditious disposal of the plea,” said the bench. The petition was dismissed as withdrawn.

The trial court on February 23, had granted the ad-interim injunction granted regarding releasing, exhibiting, and publishing the series. However, the high court set aside this order. Pride Media moved to the top court challenging the February 26 high court order.

The high court had noted Alt Balaji had already produced the show and also spent on the marketing of the show, nothing the balance of convenience is in their favor.

The petitioner said they registered the story with Screen Writers Association, but due to the Covid restrictions and the lockdown, they could not produce the show. And, “Lock Upp” began streaming, as the petitioner was in the process of mobilizing the production of the show.

Pooja Hegde’s inconsequential role in ‘Beast’ disappoints her fans

‘Beast,’ starring Vijay and Pooja Hegde was released on Wednesday. Pooja Hegde, who has become one of the most popular heroines in recent times, has appeared in a role that is essentially an extended cameo.

Apart from one song in the first half, she doesn’t have much of an impact, which has upset her slowly increasing fandom.

Starring Vijay as the lead, Pooja’s role in Nelson Dilipkumar’s directorial seems to be disappointing to the viewers.

“Nobody would have recognized her if it hadn’t been for the two songs released prior to the film’s release. This is disappointing at many levels”, one of her fans said at one of the theatres in Hyderabad, on Wednesday.

Star actresses are downgraded to only making cameo appearances in songs in superstar films, which seems to have changed in recent movies. However, in ‘Beast,’ Pooja Hegde played a silly role with no significance to the story, which changes the perspective that heroines are given equal importance in big-budget films starring popular heroes.

Pooja Hegde, who had appeared in super hit movies like ‘Maharshi’, ‘DJ-Duvvada Jagannadham’, ‘Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava’, ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramloo’, has been in limelight for a long time now.

The hush-hush ceremony has grabbed the headlines ever since the news about the power couple’s wedding broke out. During the day, a 24-carat gold bouquet wedding gift from Surat jeweler gifted to Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt was also seen entering the venue premises.

Post Alia’s Mehendi ceremony, her family members – father Mahesh Bhatt, sister Pooja Bhatt, and brother Rahul Bhatt were spotted leaving the venue.

Rakul on working with Big B, Ajay Devgn: I’m not someone who gets intimidated

Actress Rakul Preet Singh, who is gearing up for the release of the film ‘Runway 34’, has talked about working with two big-screen legends — Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn.

She says she was not intimidated by working with the two superstars instead she was excited to share the screen with them.

Talking about if she felt intimidated to work with Amitabh and Ajay in the frame, Rakul in a conversation with an interview said: “I am not someone who gets intimidated. I feel that if at the moment what you have worked for all your life you give in to intimidation then you have lost the plot.

“I am someone who gets excited. I get that happy energy that I’ll be able to shoot with them and share screen space with Amitji… So, the tougher it is the more kick I get. The more challenging it is the more excited I get. So, I behave like that.”

This is not the first time for Rakul to work with Ajay, who has also directed ‘Runway 34’. She has previously shared screen space with him in ‘De De Pyaar De’ and will next be seen with him in ‘Thank God.

“I think Ajay sir from Day 1 has been very approachable as a person. Very welcoming as a co-star. I remember meeting him for the first time on ‘De De Pyaar De’… I was nervous at that point. He is Ajay Devgn.”

“His first film had come out when I was born so it was like you have grown up watching sir and admired him for what he is as a person but he is very warm and he respects a fellow actor.”

The film is reportedly inspired by the true events of the Jet Airways Doha to Kochi flight that had a narrow escape in August 2015, after facing difficulties landing at the Cochin International Airport due to bad weather and unclear visibility at 5:45 in the morning.

Was it tough shooting in a small space?

“We shot in a real cockpit. We didn’t make a set of it. We got a real simulator… The panel that you see or every button that you see is real. So whatever we were pressing was real… We got trained on it. It was tough to shoot in that confined space because Ajay Devgn (sir) had put seven cameras in that cockpit which is very small. That was a challenge for him also as a director.”

The actress talked about her character Captain Tanya. She says that even though it was a tough film and role, it was not very difficult to get out of the intensity of it.

“I am as a person in general someone who detaches as soon as I have done shooting and that I do constantly do every day because we shoot long hours and maybe in a month at a stretch and you don’t get into the loop of the emotions of the character is feeling. So, I as an actor like to do things after pack-up that make me feel normal. The girl that Rakul is.”

She added: “I won’t say difficult but I would say challenging because we are doing something that has not been seen in Indian films before. To create that tension and fear in a small cockpit. Thinking that there is turbulence and reacting that way, of course, it was a lot of toll. But I think that is what gives you the kick.

Directed by Ajay Devgn, ‘Runway 34’ is produced by Ajay Devgn Films and is co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Vikrant Sharma, Sandeep Harish Kewlani, Tarlok Singh Jethi, Hasnain Husaini, and Jay Kanujia.

The film, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh, Boman Irani, Aakanksha Singh, and Angira Dhar, is set to hit theatres on April 29, where it will clash with Tiger Shroff and Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer ‘Heropanti 2’.

Thalapathy Vijay finally speaks out about his son’s debut

Tamil actor Vijay, whose much-anticipated film ‘Beast’ was released on Wednesday, recently gave a rare interview.

His rare appearance is one of the most talked-about aspects of the interview, while Vijay’s ice-breaker on his son Sanjay’s debut is another hot topic right now.

While the entire Tamil film industry is waiting for Thalapathy Vijay’s son Sanjay to make his debut, Vijay has stated that he has no idea what his son is thinking.

In response to a question about his son Sanjay’s Kollywood debut, the ‘Kaththi’ actor stated that he is unsure about Sanjay’s decision, but he will never force or taunt his son about his choices.

He went on to say that ‘Premam’ director Alphonse Puthren once approached him to narrate a story. Vijay initially assumed it was for him, but later realized it was for his son.

Vijay said, “However, Sanjay smoothly declined Alphonse’s offer saying that he needs time to enter the industry. Meanwhile, I liked the story though”.

The interview, on the other hand, shed light on various aspects of Vijay’s film career that he had never discussed openly.
