Pandemic taught Simba Nagpal to be grateful

Actor Simba Nagpal, who plays the protagonist Virat Singh in the show “Shakti: Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki”, says he has learnt to be grateful after the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The pandemic taught me to be grateful about everything we get. I have learnt to value each moment of life. I learnt that we don’t have to feel the need of everything being perfect to enjoy life. It’s important to understand and know that your only competition is who you were yesterday,” Simba tells in an interview.

He adds: “Earlier I use to earn, save and invest before spending. But looking at current scenario I feel the only time to live life is now. Now, I never feel bad for outgrowing people, I do my own thing and do what’s best for me. My mom encourages me to not give up on those situations which are challenging. Now I believe the fact that a grateful heart is a magnet for miracles.”

Kirti Kulhari: Don’t want to play a badly-written character

Actress Kirti Kulhari says it is her conscious choice to do intense characters on screen and that the only thing she does not want to do is play badly-written roles.

“It is a very conscious choice. I want to play all kinds of characters and the only character that I don’t want to play is a badly written character,” Kirti in an interview.

Kirti rose to fame with her work in the film “Pink” in 2016. She then worked in films such as “Indu Sarkar”, “Uri: The Surgical Strike”, “Mission Mangal”, “The Girl On The Train” and “Shaadisthan”.

She has also been seen on OTT shows such as “Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors”, “Bard Of Blood” and “Four More Shots Please!”

Vikrant Massey talks about fading star culture

Actor Vikrant Massey has opened up about the fading star culture in Hindi cinema. He agrees that OTT has played an important part in it but there are other factors, too.

Talking about the web-space playing an integral part in the erosion of star culture, Vikrant said: “I don’t think it’s (just) because of OTT. I think it is because of society in general. The new generation we see today, they don’t idol worship like probably people 20 years ago used to do. Cinema culture was a hit but people are so busy with their own lives. The newer generation have digitisation and technology at their disposal.”

He added: “My nieces are eight and nine. They don’t watch Indian content. They are sitting and watching Korean content, so the world has shrunk because of digitisation. We are far more exposed to international content.”

“OTT has definitely played an important part but also I think there are far more important things that people are busy with, like the pandemic, and everybody has something in their lives, especially the newer generations,” he explained.

“They don’t do idol worship as much. All these things are interlinked,” said the actor, whose latest film is “Haseen Dilruba”, which was released on Netflix.

Gautam Rode opens up on ‘State Of Siege: Temple Attack’ role

Actor Gautam Rode will play an NSG commando in soon-to-release OTT film, “State Of Siege: Temple Attack”.

Recalling how he became part of the project, he says: “I got a call from the producer Abhimanyu Singh, who told me about the script and then the creative team briefed me properly. To be honest I really like the storyline.”

The film directed by Ken Ghosh is based on the Akshardham temple attack of September 24, 2002, when a terrorist attack at the temple claimed over 30 lives and left 80 injured. The National Security Guard (NSG) arrived at the spot, killed the terrorists, and ended the siege.

“I just loved the script. And, of course, as I always wanted to play a uniformed officer, this role seems to me perfect,” says Gautam.

He goes on to reveal the reason. “I do not have anyone in the family from army background but because I have studied in Army Public School, a lot of my friends and batchmates are uniformed officers. Most of them have become lieutenants now. I have the highest regards for the armed officers and their families. I know the discipline required and all this helped me to play the character,” he says.

“I would have loved to get into the shoes of a uniformed officer as I decided in my school but life took another turn and now that I got an opportunity in this film, I am really very happy and satisfied,” he signs off.

Rati Agnihotri recalls ‘first interaction with Dilip uncle’ as a child

My first interaction with Dilip uncle was as a child. We stayed diagonally opposite to his bungalow in Pali Hill. We would run into his house and play in his garden with his nephews and nieces. Maybe we were those annoying kids, but he didn’t remember this when I met him later and told him about it.

I am not in the country right now and I was extremely saddened when I got to hear of Dilip uncle’s demise.

I’m so fond of him as a human being, and as an actor I worship him. All I can say is that may his soul rest in peace, and I offer lots of hugs and condolences to Saira aunty.

Dilip saab as an actor was par excellence. He was an excellent co-star, too, and more than a 100 percent in every aspect.

I remember sitting with him and hearing him talk about the books that he was reading at that time. He was a very knowledgeable man and always had a book in his hand.

I am privileged to have met and worked with Dilip saab. I am absolutely privileged. Even the word privilege is not enough.

I don’t know what to say and how to react. I am at a loss of words, actually. Dilip uncle, we love you and we will continue loving you.

Twitter ‘privacy check-in’ to let you hide account from searches

Twitter has shared couple of new ideas around maintaining user privacy and a ‘privacy check-in’ feature would allow people to remain more secure on the platform, including a way to hide their accounts from searches if they are being harassed.

Twitter’s ‘privacy check-in’ feature would take users through a series of questions that help them think about how public or private they want to be on the platform.

“For example, they could choose whether everyone can see their tweets or not, who’s allowed to send them direct messages, or who can tag them in photos,” reports TechCrunch.

According to Lena Emara, People Experience Designer at Twitter, privacy is one of those things everyone wants, but it’s not a one-size-fits-all.

“Very early concepts in Threadare ways I’m exploring to make Twitter healthier. These are just ideas and not being built (yet?), so your feedback is helpful!,” she said in a tweet late on Tuesday.

“We’ve found lots of people don’t know about all the conversation control and discoverability settings available to them — so how about a check-in that lets you pick among various groups of settings depending on your needs?” Emara added.

Right now, people can control how others find them using their phone or email.

A new Twitter concept lets you “Get notified if accounts search for your username, choose if you want to be found that way and set a time limit for it”.

Another option is making your account hidden from harassers.

“Users could be alerted to the increase in negative attention their account was receiving through a push notification and then be pointed to new privacy controls that would let them disable the ability for other Twitter users to find them through search,” the report said.

Emara said: “After being harassed by people searching for their name, they get the notification ‘Want help limiting negative interactions? We locked 5 accounts for breaking our rules after searching your username. Want to change how people find you?’

“Once they open up the notification, they can change their discoverability settings ‘Control how people find you on Twitter.’ 2 options “Let people find you by searching your username. This makes it easy for people to follow you,” she noted.

These are still early ideas, said Twitter.
