‘Bigg Boss 15’: Romance in the jungle as Miesha, Ieshaan gets closer

In the midst of all the wars and arguments on ‘Bigg Boss 15’, love also seems to be blossoming in the jungle. Miesha Iyer and Ieshaan Sehgaal are palpably getting close to each other.

Over the past few days, their bonding seems to be getting stronger. In a recent promo for the show, they were seen sitting together inside a blanket and trying to know about each other better over a chat.

Miesha asked Ieshaan: “What kind of girl do you like?” To this, he replied: “I want a pretty and cute girl who loves me without conditions.” When he inquired about her choice, she said: “I like a very off-beat kind of boy who can bear my tantrums.”

Miesha was surprised when Ieshaan said to her that he started liking her when she cried. She said it was just unbelievable for her, to which he responded by saying that he wasn’t like the others.

On being teased by the other contestant about how she was cosying up to Ieshaan, she insisted they were just friends. It will be interesting to see them getting closer to each other and Pratik getting into unnecessary fights with them.

Taapsee Pannu: Don’t want to see myself competing with anyone

From changing her diet to training vigorously to ace her look, Taapsee Pannu has upped her own game for her film ‘Rashmi Rocket’. The actress says she does not want to see herself competing with others and she likes to up her own game with each performance she does.

“I don’t want to see myself competing with anyone and I try to maintain it like it because I just feel that I need to just need to up my game,” Taapsee said while in a conversation with IANS.

She added: “Every year whatever I perform I need to up it the next year. That has been the only thing that has put me in pressure… That pressure drives so it is a good pressure to have. That’s the pressure I like today and that’s the race like to run, where I am running solo. I am competing with my timing and not other competitors.”

The sports drama, which is directed by Akarsh Khurana, narrates the story of a small-town girl, who overcomes all societal barriers to become a national-level athlete, but is hindered when she is asked to undergo a gender test.

‘Rashmi Rocket’ is very close to Taapsee’s heart as she has been attached to it since the idea was presented.

“If not the character definitely the film is the closest than any film has been because I have never been attached to film from that level … where you know the germ of an idea is presented and I kind of hand held it and gave it to someone else to develop because when I heard it I felt it deserves to be made into a film that our entire country sees,” she said.

Taapsee reached out to Pranjal Khandhdiya, the producer of the film, to discuss about the movie.

“That’s when I reached out to Pranjal (Khandhdiya) and I was casually discussing with him not with an intension that he will end up making this film… My partner and producer in the film he is the one who I shared this idea with… because it is an ambitious film not just for the actor but for the producer also because it deserves a certain scale… It deserves a scale. It’s his (Pranjal’s) conviction that help us get a director like Akarsh Khurana and then RSVP (producer) came on board then everyone else.”

The 34-year-old actress revealed that she has never been so attached and engrossed with a film.

She said: “I usually get a script I like it or not like… I see the final edit and that’s all. This is much more than it.”

The film will be released on ZEE5 on October 15.

Priyanshu Chatterjee opens up on working in British crossover film

‘Tum Bin’ actor Priyanshu Chatterjee is all set for his upcoming film ‘Barun Rai and the House on the Cliff’, which has been shot in the UK at locations such as Southampton, Camden, Cheshunt, North Weald, Stapleford Tawney and Hackney.

Talking to IANS, Priyanshu shared his experience of doing a crossover film. “Working on a film like ‘Barun Rai and the House on The Cliff’ has been great,” the actor said. “It is a different experience working on a British crossover film. Its sensibilities are very different from those of a Bollywood production. In a crossover film, an actor has to focus on targeting a different global audience.”

The film, directed by Sam Bhattacharjee, is scheduled for a UK release on October 29 and is slated to be out in India in December.

Priyanshu plays the character of ‘Barun Rai’, a parapsychologist and detective. Playing such a role for the first time in his career, Priyanshu dons a completely different look in this film, which will be similar to the classic 70s look of a crime investigator.

The film, described as a paranormal/psychological horror film, also features actors such as Nyra Banerjee, Sid Makkar, David Bailie, Aakash Shukla, Tony Richardson, George Dawson and Emma Galliano. It is produced by Unicorn Motion Pictures.

“Our director Sam Bhattacharjee’s energy was pretty infectious. It was also great working with Nyra Banerjee, Sid Makkar and Aakash Shukla. It was also an amazing experience to be able to team up with international actors such as George Dawson, Tony Richardson and Emma Galliano. They are some of the most amazing and patient actors I have ever worked with,” added the actor, who’s also known for movies such as ‘Dil Ka Rishta’, ‘Bhootnath’ and ‘Hate Story 3’.

At the end of his conversation with interview, Priyanshu said: “To be shooting non-stop in rough, cold, brutal weather and keeping your humanity alive is a great human triumph. I saw that every day in this unit’s actors and technicians. I salute all of them.”

Kangana to drive visibility for UP’s traditional products

The Uttar Pradesh government plans to further step up the branding of its ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) scheme.

The state’s Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Siddhartha Nath Singh and Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Navneet Sehgal met actress Kangana Ranaut, who has been named brand ambassador of the ODOP scheme, in Lucknow on Thursday, and discussed the modalities.

Kangana has assured her support for the scheme, which was launched with the aim of reviving traditional industries in the state, the minister said.

“Uniquely identifiable products have been identified in each district,” he added. “The artisans have been given advanced tools and attractive packaging of their products has been ensured, and an agreement signed with e-commerce majors Flipkart and Amazon so that they can be marketed globally.”

He said the financial problems of artisans were being addressed by connecting them with banks.

ACS Navneet Sehgal expressed the hope that as brand ambassador, Kangana Ranaut would take ODOP “to new heights and these products would eventually become the choice of people”.

Kangana responded by saying that she would gift ODOP products to members of her family and friends during Diwali this year. She was of the view that consumer aspirations should be addressed through her advertisements promoting ODOP products.

“We had a good discussion,” the minister said. “I briefed her about the micro and small industries that are coming up and shaping the state’s rural economy. She said she wanted to begin shooting to promote the scheme as quickly as possible,” he added.

“There are products in UP that one cannot usually find elsewhere, such as the ‘Kala Namak’ rice variety,” the minister said. “UP is full of amazing things. Many of these products are now GI-tagged, which means they are certified as being specific to a given region in UP.”

Joaquin Phoenix hints at ‘Joker’ sequel

Oscar-winning actor Joaquin Phoenix has suggested that a sequel to ‘Joker’ is possible as there are more things to “explore” with the villain.

The 46-year-old star won the Best Actor Oscar for his role as Arthur Fleck/Joker in the 2019 movie, which serves as an origin story to the iconic ‘Batman’ villain.

Phoenix told Playlist: “This is an interesting guy. There are some things we could do with this guy and could (explore) further. But as to whether we actually will? I don’t know.”

It was reported earlier this year that director Todd Phillips was working on a script for the sequel and he previously suggested that a follow-up had been discussed during filming for the first film, reports variety.com.

Speaking after the movie’s release, the filmmaker said: “Well there was (a push for a sequel) even before ‘Joker’ came out.

“A movie does that kind of business and became that beloved around the world – they had talked to us about it. Joaquin and I had spoken about it anyway as far back as when we were shooting the movie.”

Phillips had planned to get DC and Warner Bros., to focus on movies that explore the darker side of their superheroes and hoped that other filmmakers would embrace the concept.

The 50-year-old director explained: “I pitched it as three movies, ‘Joker’ being the first with me, and then these two other movies, with two other directors.

“But I don’t really want to name them, because then it’ll become a thing and I’m pulling these directors into it when I’ve never even told them about it. It was just me telling Warner Bros. about it.”

Big-screen release of Kiccha Sudeep’s ‘Kotigobba 3’ to revive Sandalwood

The Sandalwood film industry is looking ahead to the release of ‘Superstar’ Kiccha Sudeep’s ‘Kotigobba 3’. It will be the first big-budget movie to hit the screens after theatres have been allowed 100 per cent audience seating. The promo of the much-awaited movie was released on Thursday.

Sources in the industry say the film is going to provide a much-awaited fresh start to their business, which had been battered by Covid-19 restrictions.

Producer Surappa Babu has stated that the Censor Board has given a U/A certificate for the film and did not suggest a ‘single cut’ or ‘mute’. It is an action entertainer that is going to enthrall the audience, he added.

The film, directed by Shivakarthik, is being released in 350-plus theatres across Karnataka during the Dasara festival in the second week of this month.

Madonna Sebastian, who works primarily in Tamil and Malayalam cinema, is playing the lead role against Sudeep, marking her debut in the Kannada film industry. Shraddha Das, Aftab Shivdasani and Ravishankar are in the other prominent roles.
