Cross-connections in plenty on ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ Game of Hearts

Recently ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ viewers witnessed different connections between the contestants who got a chance to change partners and choose a new one in the ‘Game of Hearts’.

The contestants were given a task called ‘Game of Hearts’ but it didn’t go well with Pratik Sehajpal and Akshara Singh as at first Pratik accepted the heart and then broke her heart twice. Later, Neha Bhasin gave her heart to Pratik and Akshara to Milind Gaba which led to a tiff between the two ladies.

Thus there was a heated conversation between old and new connections that ended on a bitter note. Pratik said that: “Akshara and Milind have a great connection so they should be together” to which Akshara was quick to respond: “There is no one in the ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ house who can decide with whom I have a better connection.”

Later when Neha gave the heart to Pratik, Milind furiously replied: “I am shocked. You have flipped faster than the time it takes to make an egg.”

The argument started blowing up and Neha said: “I will not make a fake connection. I feel judged when I am with you” to which Gaba replied: “Mind your language.”

When Gaba shouted at Neha, she was unable to accept the way he was talking to her and she replied back: “You have no right to talk to me like that. This is the tone I cannot handle.”

The task ended with a huge tiff between the two ladies where Akshara accuses Neha of breaking their connection. Akshara said to Neha: “You can’t break the connection between Pratik and me just by giving a heart to him.”

The fights between the connections are blowing up more and more! Akshara is shattered and the rejection is making her cry in the house.

‘Bigg Boss OTT’ airs on Voot.

Priyaank Sharma: Family background doesn’t help you succeed in cinema

Actor Priyaank Sharma, who is the son of yesteryear actress Padmini Kolhapure and cousin of Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor, says that family background does not help any creative individual to achieve success.

Recently Priyaank launched his music label Dhamaka Records. He also made his Bollywood debut with the film ‘Sab Kushal Mangal’ that also featured Akshaye Khanna in 2020.

Asked about coming from a family of actors and filmmakers, if it has helped him in anyway to find his space in Bollywood, Priyaank told IANS: “I think growing in a family where everyone is somewhere part of the creative profession, be it music, cinema, film producing, I have seen what a risk-taking business it is.

“I have seen how life changes between Friday to Friday. So from the beginning, I knew that my family background will not help me to get my breakthrough moment and if I want to take up acting professionally, a sense of uncertainty will be there. So, when people talk about nepotism, I wonder if they understand that the creative growth of an artist has nothing to do with family background. Rather we have a different pressure.”

Priyaank said that even though currently he is working on a project, he is waiting for the official announcement and until then, everything is under wraps.

Arjun Kapoor: I wasn’t some hyped debutant, ‘Ishaqzaade’ changed my life

Actor Arjun Kapoor has been in the Hindi film industry for nine years. He made his debut in 2012 with ‘Ishaqzaade’, which he tags as his “gamechanger” as he says he was not spoken about for two to three years before his maiden movie came out.

Ever since his debut in 2012. Arjun has featured in many films such as ‘2 States’, ‘Ki &Ka’, ‘Half Girlfriend’, ‘Panipat’ and ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’, among many others.

However, ‘Ishaqzaade’ remains close to his heart.

“The film that was my gamechanger was ‘Ishaqzaade’ otherwise I wouldn’t have been in this game. My first film was my gamechanger because nobody gave me a shot in hell before I started off,” Arjun said, while talking to an interviwer.

The 36-year-old added: “Nobody knew me. I was not some hyped debutant. I wasn’t spoken about for 2-3 years before my film came. I was irrelevant and nobody knew of me and that changed my life forever.”

As of today, the actor has a gamut of films in his kitty such as ‘Bhoot Police’, ‘Ek Villain Returns’ and the recently announced ‘Kuttey’.

Sofia Vergara ‘educated’ herself after cancer scare

‘Modern Family’ star Sofia Vergara was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at the age of 28, and she handled the shock news by educating herself about the condition.

“At 28 years old during a routine doctor’s visit, my doctor felt a lump in my neck. They did a lot of tests and told finally me I had thyroid cancer,” Vergara said during the ‘Stand Up To Cancer’ telethon.

She added: “When you’re young and you hear that word ‘Cancer,’ your mind goes to so many places but I tried not to panic and I decided to get educated. I read every book and found out everything I could about it. I was fortunate to have caught it early and to have the support of my doctors and most importantly, my family.”

The 49-year-old actress believes she learned a lot from her health scare.

She said: “I learned a lot during that time, not just about thyroid cancer but I also learned that in times of crisis, we’re better together.”

The actress previously said she was “lucky” to have survived her cancer scare. She was relieved the problem was discovered before the cancer had been allowed to spread.

Even though she’s now cancer-free, Sofia remains conscious of the threat.

She said: “I get my blood levels checked every three to six months to make sure my thyroid levels are good. And of course after cancer, every time I cough or feel something I’m a little paranoid.”

Kiara Advani: My parents want to know what’s written about me

Actress Kiara Advani, who is receiving a lot of praise for her performance in the recently released ‘Shershaah’, says that her parents always read comments on social media about their daughter.

As the actress is always being scrutinised by the netizens, asked about how her family responded to that, Kiara said, “I ignore it (mean comments) as it does somewhere affect me. I want to have a normal day, and I don’t want to go into reading comments….we’re also humans. Sometimes I think, ‘oh my mom will read it, my father will read it and they don’t like it,’ and they do (read it).

“My parents hashtag Kiara Advani every day, they want to know what is been written about me, what my fans are saying about me…they enjoy it. I tell my mom to ignore it, but she tells me that she wants to know what is being said about me. So when you talk about culture, I believe that being respectful to one another is an important part of it. People should understand ‘ki yeh (actors) bhi insaan hai, inke bhi emotions hote hai’, they are sensitive, and there must be a reason behind it.”

Kiara was having a conversation with actor and talk-show host Arbaaz Khan for his digital show ‘Pinch By Arbaaz Khan Season 2’. The episode will be releasing this week on QuPlay’s YouTube Channel, on ZEE5 and on MyFM.

Armaan Malik opens up on his first song for an Akshay Kumar movie

Singer Arrmaan Malik recently recorded his first song for an Akshay Kumar movie titled ‘Tum Aaogey’.

Sharing about the track from the film ‘Bell Bottom’, Malik says that he experienced a different feeling while recording the song.

“‘Tum Aaogey’ is an emotional track with a patriotic theme. In a way it is different from the rest of my discography. I don’t think I’ve sung a song like this before, which makes it even more special. During the recording, I experienced a plethora of sentiments, as I positioned myself in the shoes of others, to emulate what they must be feeling through my voice. It’s been an experience that I will hold on to forever,” he says.

Armaan also talks about doing the first song for Akshay Kumar and singing with Amaal Malik.

“This is the first song I’ve ever done for an Akshay Kumar movie. I was elated when Amaal Malik told me that he wanted to onboard me for this track. Collaborating with Amaal and Rashmi Virag has always been an amazing experience, given our hit track record together with songs like ‘Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon’, ‘Bol Do Na Zara’, ‘Tere Mere’ and many more,” he says.

“I am very confident that ‘Tum Aaogey’ would follow suit and be equally successful. It is a certainty considering the beautiful lyrics and emotions that lace this song,” reveals Armaan.

Armaan has sung for films like ‘Mastizaade’, ‘Sanam Re’ and others.

“I recorded this track during the pandemic at my home studio. I also recorded some bits in a hotel room when I was travelling. It’s crazy how a song comes together in different places. The key to getting this song right was to feel every word I was singing,” he says.

“This particular rendition is my truest singing, and even though it’s got my signature style, I’ve managed to incorporate a couple of fresh inflections and vocal runs,” he concludes.

Under-utilised brownfield assets to be monetised under NMP: Sitharaman

Only under-utilised brownfield assets will be monetised under the National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP) of the Centre worth Rs 6 lakh crore, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Monday.

Besides, no land parcels will be taken up under the NMP, she said after unvieling the asset monetisation pipeline of Central ministries and public sector entities.

According to Sitharaman, the NMP focuses on brownfield assets in which investments have already been made but these assests are under-utilised.

These under-utilised brownfield assets are in sectors such as roads, railways, airports, mines, and power.

Sitharaman said that the NMP is necessary for creating employment and triggering high economic growth.

Furthermore, the NMP will bring in private capital which will be used for infra creation, she said.

The NMP estimates aggregate monetisation potential of Rs 6 lakh crore through core assets of the Central government, over a four-year period, from FY22 to FY25.

“Asset monetisation, based on the philosophy of creation through monetisation, is aimed at tapping private sector investment for new infrastructure creation,” Sitharaman said.

“This is necessary for creating employment opportunities, thereby enabling high economic growth and seamlessly integrating the rural and semi-urban areas for overall public welfare.”
