Ravi Teja wishes ‘Khiladi’ co-star Dimple with new poster

Actor Ravi Teja on Saturday sent birthday greetings to his co-star Dimple Hayathi, with whom he will soon be seen in the Telugu film “Khiladi”.

Ravi took to social media where he shared a new poster of the upcoming film, which had “Happy birthday to Dimple Hayathi” written on it.

The film’s director Ramesh Varma also wished Dimple on Twitter, saying: “Happy Birthday Gorgeous @DimpleHayathi, You’ve brought extra energy to #Khiladi & I wish you a lot of success in your career.”

The filmmaker also shared that the film’s first track will be released on Sunday.

“Khiladi” will see Ravi play a cop, doing some high octane action.

The details of the film’s theatrical release have not been shared yet.

Happy Onam: Celebrities share festivity greetings with fans

From superstar Mohanlal to Allu Arjun, celebrities from all the Southern film industries on Saturday wished their fans on the occasion of Onam on social media.

Onam is a harvest festival celebrated in Kerala.

Malayalam films’ actor Fahadh Faasil had double reasons to celebrate. He took to Instagram and shared a picture with his wife Nazriya. The couple also celebrated their wedding anniversary on Saturday.

Fahadh captioned the image as: “Anniversary cheers. Happy Onam”.

Superstar Mohanlal uploaded a picture of himself making a rangoli and captioned it “Happy Onam”.

“Baahubali” star Anushka Shetty took to Instagram Stories and wrote: “Wishing peace, prosperity and well-being for all. Happy Onam”.

Telugu star Allu Arjun put up a post on his social media and wrote: “Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous Onam.”

Actor Sai Dharam Tej wrote on his Instagram Stories: “May this festival of Onam fill your home with all joy, peace and happiness. #onamasamshakal #happyonam.”

Tiger Shroff blocks Christmas 2022 for ‘Ganpath’ release

Actor Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon’s upcoming action thriller “Ganpath” has been blocked as a Christmas release and will hit the screens on December 23, 2022.

Tiger, son of actor Jackie Shroff, also treated his fans with a teaser of the film on Instagram.

He is heard saying in Hindi: “Apun ko janta ne aur God ne bola aane ko, to apun aa re la hai.”

The actor labels “Ganpath” as one of his most ambitious projects.

Tiger said: “‘Ganpath’ has been one of my most ambitious and challenging projects. This one truly is going to challenge me to an extreme level in terms of action as well. The idea is to take the bar a lot higher for myself and Ganapath is just the right vehicle to express a new action for our audiences here.”

‘Birds Of Prey’ spin-off spotlighting Black Canary is in the works

Actress Jurnee Smollett’s character Black Canary is getting her own movie as a “Birds Of Prey” spin-off is in the works.

“Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn” spin-off is in early development at HBO Max and will be focusing on the vigilante that was portrayed by Smollett in the 2020 Warner Bros./DC movie, reports aceshowbiz.com.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Lovecraft Country” showrunner Misha Green is tapped to write the script, with Smollett being set to reprise her role as Dinah Lance/Black Canary.

The “Black Canary” movie will reunite Smollett and Green, who have worked together on the period drama “Underground” and the supernatural series “Lovecraft Country”. The actress starred on both series.

Details of the plot are currently under wraps. As of now, there is no word on who will direct the “Birds of Prey” spin-off.

Black Canary is a vigilante with the metahuman ability of hypersonic screams, which she inherited genetically from her mother. In the movie, she is depicted as a singer in a club that Roman Sionis played by Ewan McGregor owns.

“Birds of Prey” itself was developed as a spin-off to 2016’s “The Suicide Squad”.

Bringing back Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, it also stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rosie Perez, Chris Messina, Ella Jay Basco and Ali Wong among others.

Anurag Basu plays food games in ‘Super Dancer 4’

Contestant Esha and super guru Sonalis dance act on the tale of Draupadi has stunned the judges — Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Anurag Basu and Geeta Kapur — in the show ‘Super Dancer Chapter 4.

A highly-impressed Geeta Kapur says: “This was such an unreal act. This is one of your best presentations and this act definitely deserves ‘Sajdaa’ (praise).”

Applauding the act, Shilpa Shetty Kundra added: “The way you both have been performing is ‘superrr se bohot bohot ooperr!’ Esha, you deserve to be on the ‘seedhi’ (stairs) with me today.”

Nyra Banerjee on her multiple looks in ‘Rakshabandhan…Rasal Apne Bhai Ki Dhal’

Actress Nyra Banerjee has shared why she relates to her new show ‘Rakshabandhan…Rasal Apne Bhai Ki Dhal’.

“It’s about the character titled ‘Rasal’ in the show as a protector of her brother. We have always associated Rakshabandhan with the brother being the protector; here it’s the sister. I completely relate to this show being a sister of a younger brother,” she said.

According to her, everyone is playing a unique role, and contributes perfectly to the storyline of the show.

“I’m playing ‘Chakori’ whose only aim is to be rich. I’m called the ‘looteri dulhan’. I may have had a weird past as a child, but today I know my only motto is to be rich and stabilize my life by hook or crook. I have many shades. I take multiple disguises,” said the ‘Divya Drishti’ actress.

Nyra dons multiple looks in the show and she says: “My first look took me almost two hours. We had to achieve a particular look with eye make-up. There is a tattoo on my neck and my hand. When I have multiple disguises, it always takes me two hours. The old woman’s look was unique. My current look is my favourite. I look like a lovely ‘thakurain’,” she said.

She has some favourites on the set of the show, as she shares: “Definitely, Nishant Singh Malkani and Hardika Sharma. Nishant is so particular in his expression. He does the role really well. And I just love Hardika,” she shared.

Haryana providing relief to poor families hit by Covid-19

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday said the state has been giving a benefit of Rs 2 lakh to poor families under an insurance scheme, who have lost members during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Chief Minister informed the state assembly about this during the Question Hour on the first day of the monsoon session that commenced here.

Adequate arrangements have been made for ensuring uninterrupted oxygen supply during the pandemic, he said.

“Initially, Haryana got a quota of 150 metric tonnes (MT) oxygen from the Centre, which was later increased to 285 MT, although the state had demanded 350 MT,” he said.

The Chief Minister said to ensure uninterrupted oxygen supply, adequate arrangements were made. No discrimination of any kind was done in the supply of oxygen. During the second wave, the daily oxygen supply and requirement were calculated thoroughly, he said.

“Not only this, concentrators were also brought to ensure adequate supply of oxygen. Many social organizations also contributed to this,” said Khattar.

“Currently, there are 670 active COVID-19 cases in Haryana. A third wave is expected. Even today many people are struggling with post-Covid complications. Pandemic is not in anyone’s control. We have done our duty in times of crisis,” added Khattar.

He blamed the opposition for criticizing the government on every issue.

Replying to another question, Cooperation Minister Banwari Lal, on behalf of Health Minister Anil Vij, said 26 healthcare personnel, comprising nine doctors and eight paramedical staff, lost their lives while performing Covid-19 duty. They were covered under a life insurance scheme.

He said the state saw 9,635 Covid deaths and district-level death audit committees were constituted to evaluate the cause of death so that corrective measures were taken accordingly.

Jagapathi Babu’s look from ‘Lakshya’ unveiled

Actor Naga Shaurya, who will soon be seen in the Telugu sports drama ‘Lakshya’, released the first look from the film of seasoned actor Jagapathi Babu on Friday.

Jagapathi Babu’s character is introduced as Parthasaradhi. His character looks lost deep in thought in the first look.

Shaurya reposted the movie’s production house’s Instagram post to announce the character. The original Instagram post was captioned as: “Introducing the legendary @iamjaggubhai_ as Parthasaradhi in #Lakshya!”

‘Lakshya’ is said to be India’s first film based on the ancient sport of archery. Directed by Dheerendra Santhossh Jagarlapudi, ‘Lakshya’ is Shaurya’s 20th film and also stars actress Ketki Sharma. Ace actor Jagapathi Babu will be seen playing a crucial role in the film.

Presented by Sonali Narang, the film is produced by Narayana Das K. Narang, Puskur Ram Mohan Rao and Sharrath Marar.

Suriya’s ‘Soorarai Pottru’ wins Best Film Award at Melbourne Fest

Tamil actor Suriya’s 2020 film ‘Soorarai Pottru’ has won the Best Film Award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. The actor also won the Best Performance Male award for his performance in the film.

The movie is loosely based on the biography of Capt. Gopinath, founder of Air Deccan.

The announcement was made through the official Twitter handle of the festival. They wrote: “Best Performance Male (feature) congratulations to Suriya Sivakumar for Soorarai Pottru.”

In another tweet they announced: “Best Film. Congratulations to Soorarai Pottru.”

The film is produced by Suriya’s home banner 2D Entertainment and directed by Sudha Kongara. It was recently announced that the film will be remade in Hindi with Sudha once again taking up the director’s role.

Australian minister Danny Pearson congratulated Suriya for the win, to which Suriya replied: “Truly an honour Sir!”.
