Late Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely and unnatural death has turned out to be mysterious. With no suicide note found of the actor at his Bandra residency and there are several speculations surrounding his death, Maharashtra police are probing his death. Though the post mortem report confirmed that he died due to hanging, cops are probing the incident since it is a high-profile case and cops are leaving no stone unturned.

Mumbai police had questioned Rhea Chakraborty yesterday for nearly nine hours. In the long interrogation, Rhea had revealed several interesting elements. She had admitted that Sushant and she were in a relationship. She had reportedly told cops that they were in a living-in relationship and they were together in Sushant’s house during lockdown. She had also told cops that their wedding rumours which were circulating online were true.

Rhea had told the police that they had planned to marry by the end of 2020 and were looking for a property together. She, however, told cops that she and Sushant had a fight and that made her come out of his house. However, Rhea said she was in touch with Sushant over phone and text messages. In fact, Rhea was the last person, Sushant had called. He had called Rhea on Saturday night before going to sleep and he was found dead on Sunday morning.

Rhead had told police that Sushant was under depression. She added that he had refused to take medication. She showed proof to police that he was on treatment for clinical depression. She told police that Sushant had refused medicines and turned towards Yoga and Meditation. This is not all. Rhea has made a shocking revelation. She said that Sushant had ended a contract with Yash Raj Films and had even asked her to do the same. Rhea’s statements have been recorded by Mumbai police. More details are awaited.

Sonu Nigam open up about the “cruel” machinations of the music industry

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death prompted Sonu Nigam to open up about the “cruel” machinations of the music industry in a new video blog. The 46-year-singer shared his vlog with a troubling caption, “You might soon hear about suicides in the music industry”, in which he called out the “mafias” of the music industry, two of them in particular, without taking names. “Sushant Singh Rajput died, an actor died.

Tomorrow, you can hear the same about a singer, or a composer, or a lyrics writer. Because the music scenario in our country… there are bigger ‘mafias’ here that in the film industry, unfortunately,” said Mr Nigam. “The power rests in the hands of two of them… just two from the music industry. They own companies. They have the power to make someone sing or not sing,” he added.

In the comments section on Sonu Nigam’s video, several followers said that the music labels which the singer talked about are probably T-Series, Zee Music Company and even YRF Music.

“Everybody wants to ‘rule’ the business,” said Sonu Nigam, who repeatedly requested to the alleged “music mafias” to be kind and considerate towards new talent with messages such as these addressed to them: “Don’t do this! This is not right”, “You will be questioned”, “Be a little kind please, to the newcomers.”

“It’s very difficult for the new kids, very difficult… I speak to every one of them. They are troubled that the producer wants to work with them, the director wants to work, even the music composer wants to work with them but the music company will say: ‘This is not our artiste’,” he added.

“I was lucky that I joined (the industry) at a young age, I escaped the clutches,” he added, saying he joined music industry in Mumbai in 1991 but “I got out of it. I don’t have any wish to sing for the last 15 years. It’s ok. I am happy in my own world. But I have seen the frustration in the eyes, in the voice, in the words of new singers, new composers, new lyrics writers… tears of blood, sometimes.”

Sonu Nigam also made an oblique reference to actor Salman Khan as he talked about an actor, at whom “fingers are being pointed” right now. Talking about replacing singers, Sonu Nigam said: “He’s done that with Arijit Singh.” In 2016, Mr Khan had reportedly asked to drop a song recorded by Arijit Singh from his film Sultan after he was offended by the singer’s mannerisms at an award show.

Sonu Nigam wrapped his video alleging that in the past, he was called for song recordings and then his songs were dubbed by different artists. “If you can do this with me, then what you guys must have been doing with the newcomers,” he said and added: “Hope more people don’t die by suicide.”

Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide, say the police, who are carrying out an investigation. He was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14. The police will also probe allegations that Mr Rajput was depressed because of professional rivalry. Politician Sanjay Nirupam alleged Sushant lost six out of some seven films which he had signed in the last few months.

Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt have lost followers on their social media accounts

0

Filmmaker Karan Johar appears to have unfollowed several Twitter accounts, among them nearly all the celebrity accounts that we are pretty sure he used to follow. These include his close friends Alia Bhatt and Twinkle Khanna. Mr Johar, currently weathering a veritable tsunami of controversy, now follows just eight Twitter accounts. Of these, only three belong to actors – Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Twinkle’s husband Akshay Kumar. A fourth account is that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the remaining four belong to Mr

Karan Johar’s sudden paring down of his Twitter friends list is not apropos of nothing – since Sunday, he has faced massive and brutal backlash after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, whose last film Drive was produced by Mr Johar. The filmmaker has been accused of hypocrisy, after writing of how he blamed himself for not having been in touch with the actor, who police say died by suicide; Mr Johar and actress Alia Bhatt spoke dismissively of Sushant Singh Rajput on an episode of chat show Koffee With Karan, Twitter has pointed out. The public excoriation has also been based on rumours that Karan Johar and other powerful Bollywood figures boycotted Mr Rajput – politician Sanjay Nirupam has alleged that the actor lost seven films that he had signed after the success of his 2019 hit Chhichhore.

Quite what point Karan Johar is making by unfollowing his celebrity friends escapes us for the moment; it’s noteworthy that the three celebrities he does follow still were not born into film dynasties. Of the three, Mr Johar is famously very close to Shah Rukh Khan both personally and professionally; Amitabh Bachchan is, of course, is the elder statesman of the film industry; Akshay Kumar is connected to Mr Johar through his wife Twinkle Khanna, daughter of Dimple Kapadia and Rajesh Khanna and a childhood friend of Karan Johar. Alia Bhatt is also what is known as ‘star kids’ as is Mr Johar himself. Both Twinkle Khanna and Alia Bhatt are still following Karan Johar.

Both Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt have also reportedly lost followers on their social media accounts after being reminded of their Koffee With Karan conversation. An excerpt from actor Ayushmann Khurrana’s book in which he relates how Dharma Productions stonewalled him over an audition has gone viral recently. In it, Mr Khurrana writes that he was told, “We only work with stars.”

Sushant Singh Rajput’s death is being investigated as a suicide; the Maharashtra government has announced that allegations he was depressed because of professional rivalry will also be probed.

While Niharika is trying to focus on films, her father Naga Babu recently said he will soon find a good match for her to get married.

Surprisingly, Niharika posted something on her social media account that puzzled the followers. Holding a Starbucks coffee cup with ‘Mrs. Niha’ written on it while ‘Ms’ is struck off. Niharika too left it the way cryptic it is with ‘Uh.. what?’ to quote the picture.

Well, it looks like either Niharika’s marriage is fixed for real, or she just started promoting her new film or a short film that has a marriage concept. That seems to be suspense for now.

Karan Johar is being accused of nepotism

0

Two members of the film fraternity have been placed under scrutiny by social media for sharing emotional tributes to actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead at his Mumbai home on Sunday. Twitter is shredding filmmaker Karan Johar and actress Alia Bhatt for having previously spoken dismissively about Mr. Rajput on the show Koffee With Karan – both Mr. Johar and Ms. Bhatt posted tributes to Sushant Singh Rajput; Mr. Johar also wrote a self-recriminatory note blaming himself for not having been in touch with Mr. Rajput over the last year. “I’m in a deep state of shock,” tweeted Alia Bhatt on Sunday, “You left us too soon.” Karan Johar wrote in his tweet, “This is heartbreaking. I have such strong memories of the times we shared.”

On Twitter, both Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt are being censured for an episode of Koffee With Karan in which, asked to rate three male actors in a Rapid Fire question – the choices were Sushant Singh Rajput, Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan – Ms. Bhatt said, “Sushant Singh Rajput, who?” This has been flagged several times in the comments thread on both Ms. Bhatt’s tweet and Karan Johar’s.

Karan Johar is also once again being accused of nepotism and favoring Bollywood insiders over the likes of Sushant Singh Rajput, who belonged to a non-film background. Mr. Johar has been previously involved in controversial conversations about nepotism and favoritism, notably when actress Kangana Ranaut called him the “flagbearer of nepotism” on Koffee With Karan. Mr. Johar later chanted “Nepotism rocks” at the IIFA Awards, along with actors Varun Dhawan and Saif Ali Khan – all three have parents who worked in the film industry.

Sushant Singh Rajput was among the industry’s more talented actors. He rose to stardom on the television show Pavitra Rishta and then made the jump to Bollywood in director Abhishek Kapoor’s 2013 film Kai Po Che! His film credits include MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Kedarnath, PK, and the extremely well-received Sonchiriya and Chhichhore.
