Actor Raghav Tiwari recalls his modelling days

Actor Raghav Tiwari, who was seen playing a protagonist Aditya in his acting debut show ‘Hamari Wali Good News’, is in his hometown Jaipur to host a fashion show.

The actor remembers his modeling days and says: “Fashion Industry has always been very fascinating, glamorous and glittery. But it has its own merits and demerits. In my initial days, I started my career as a model. Though I was not tall enough to be a ramp model but I use to get a hell of a lot of print projects. Modeling grooms your personality and improves the way you carry yourself and gives you a confidence boost.”

Raghav feels modeling is taxing.

He says: “Modelling as a job is very taxing. When I started working as a newbie print model, I use to get at least 100 to 150 changes with not an average pay which was inhuman. Even for ramp models, it’s very taxing to maintain a certain lean physique and walk for different shows. Modeling is very competitive plus age restricted too.”

He says at the time there is not much scope left for people pursuing modeling.

“I also feel that a few years ago there was a wave of models getting recognition and fame. Veterans like John Abraham, Muzamil Ibrahim, Dino Morea, Arjun Rampal among others are at the top. But now we hardly get to know about upcoming models. So, I believe we have hell of lot of talented people in the Modeling stream too and they deserve the push in the industry,” he concludes.

Rakul Preet Singh on ‘Attack’: We are all prepared for films like this

John Abraham-starrer ‘Attack’ is all about a cybertronic humanoid super-soldier developed to combat terrorism. The film’s actress Rakul Preet Singh agrees that it is different but the audiences are prepared for new films like this.

During the promotion of the film in Noida, Rakul talked about working in the film, which has a new concept.

“The experience was great and I would just like to add that we are all prepared for films like this. We have been watching these ‘Spiderman’ movies, we have been watching all sorts of action films. We lap it up we love them but because we haven’t seen anything in our own country we think we are not ready for it but if India was not ready there wouldn’t have been such a huge market for international films.”

She added: “So I think my whole experience became more special because I was ready to take that risk and plunge into a genre and say ‘Made in India’ something that is international level and not been seen or done before. That is what ‘Attack’ is.”

‘Attack’ is directed by Lakshya Raj Anand. It is based on a story by John Abraham, who stars in the film alongside Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul. The film is scheduled to be released on April 1.

RS Secretariat to screen ‘Bahubali: The Beginning’ on April 1

Amid the controversy on the recently released film “The Kashmir Files”, the Rajya Sabha Secretariat Recreation Club has arranged a special screening of the Telugu film “Bahubali: The Beginning”, for all members on April 1 at the Films Division Auditorium, here in Mahadev Road.

According to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, the move came after the suggestion from the Hindi Salahkar Samiti of the Upper House to encourage the linguistic exchange among the Hindi speaking and other language-speaking people and the Members have been requested to watch this movie. The subtitles of the film are in English.

In a parliamentary party meeting of the BJP held on March 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the MPs to watch the newly released film, The Kashmir Files.

“The Kashmir Files is a very good movie. All of you should watch it. More such movies should be made,” Modi said.

“The Kashmir Files” is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from the Kashmir Valley in the 1990s, and endorsing the film, Modi said that there was an effort underway to prevent the truth from being told.

“History has to be presented in the right context. Just as books, poetry, and literature play a role in this, films can do so too,” he said.

Taking a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for their demand to make “The Kashmir Files” tax-free in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said the BJP should ask the film’s director Vivek Agnihotri to upload it on YouTube, and everyone will see it for free.

The Delhi BJP MLAs on Wednesday demanded during the ongoing assembly session to make “The Kashmir Files” tax-free.

Based on ‘RRR’ advance bookings, analysts say it’ll make Rs 600-700 cr

Filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’, starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, has created a storm by raking in Rs. 30 crores in domestic advance bookings for Day 1.

‘RRR’ marks Rajamouli’s comeback after a hiatus of five years. The international cast of the Telugu-language epic period action drama includes Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson, Olivia Morris, and Shriya Saran.

Mentioning the phenomenal advance booking, trade analyst Karan Taurani of Elara Capital said: “The advance that you are talking about is domestic. I think the opening will be close to more than Rs 100 crore; in the Hindi belt it will be somewhere between Rs 50 crore and Rs 70 crore.”

PVR CEO Gautam Dutta, whose company has a tie-up with ‘RRR’, sounds ecstatic about the response the film is getting. Dutta said: “RRR is a mega-blockbuster that has generated a positive response from audiences across regions. As movie buffs were eagerly awaiting its release, we opened advance bookings from Wednesday and we received a phenomenal response.”

He added: “The movie is being released in the IMAX 3D format, which has ensured that it runs to packed houses by magnifying the movie’s special effects. We have aligned shows as early as 8.00 a.m. and are drawing strong occupancies as we do not want movie lovers to miss out on catching up on the excitement of the big screen.”

‘RRR’ hits the big screen not much after the release of Vivek Agnihotri’s much-talked-about film, ‘The Kashmir Files’. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said the film has collected Rs 207.33 crore, showing a 13.08 percent growth in Week 2.

Will ‘RRR’ surpass the collection notched up by ‘The Kashmir Files’? Taurani said: “I don’t think it will surpass ‘The Kashmir Files’ in the Hindi belt, but yeah, on a pan-India basis, it should do at least Rs 600-700 crore at the box office.”

Dutta said Rajamouli’s movies have strong production values and are not constrained by a regional appeal because they are ‘Indian’ films that resonate with all kinds of audience segments due to their nationalistic narrative.

“The movie has been released in five languages — Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam — and is expected to do well across the country,” Dutta predicted. PVR has a special association with the movie due to an exclusive partnership with the producers for its promotion.

Will ‘RRR’ come anywhere near the all-time record box office pickings of the two ‘Baahubali’ films, which were also made by Rajamouli? Adarsh did not think so.

Also, with ‘KGF 2’ scheduled to be released three weeks after ‘RRR’, Rajamouli’s epic won’t get much exclusive run time. Nonetheless, ‘RRR’ will keep the cash counters busy at the cinemas, which have been on a high after ‘The Kashmir Files’ picked up phenomenally.

NTR thanks fans and audience for their unwavering love

Jr. NTR, who essays the role of Akhtar alias Bheem in SS Rajamouli’s latest sensational movie ‘RRR’, has thanked his fans for their unwavering love all through.

As the fictional drama ‘RRR’ hit the screens on Friday, the ‘Aadhi’ actor, who took to his social media website, expressed his gratefulness.

Being on the receiving end of unprecedented fandom, NTR seems to be overwhelmed. He tweeted, “Thank You, each and everyone, for your unwavering love. Your love, admiration, and support are what keep me going…Enjoy the visual spectacle that is #RRRMovie.”

‘RRR’ is touted to be NTR Jr’s first pan-India movie, which is now being called a historic blockbuster. His fans, who had to wait for more than 3 years to watch him on the screen, were seen raining white streamers at NTR Jr’s first appearance in the film.

NTR’s introduction scene that shows him locking horns with a tiger inspired an uproarious hysteria among fans.
