Costume designer Neeta Lulla, who worked for Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s ‘Shakuntalam’ reveals that Samantha was one of the most inspiring actresses she has worked with.

As the celebrity costume designer shared her experience working for the upcoming epic love saga, said that Samantha has ‘transformed’ herself into the world of ‘Shakuntalam’ as well.

“Samantha totally nailed the character of Shakuntala holistically. From carrying the look, the performance, and watching her on the set, has transformed even me. I was engulfed in the era of Shakuntala and Dushyant”, Neeta Lulla said.

Neeta also mentions that Samantha was apprehensive about how she would pull off a queen’s look. “She is a technician’s delight. Such an obedient and wonderful person who appreciates the efforts put in, and works doubly hard”, Neeta explains.

“I am amazed at the scope of her versatility on character portrayal”, Neeta said, “It was never Samantha on set but only Shakuntala”.

Days after the first look poster of Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s ‘Shakuntala’ look came out, ace designer Neeta Lulla’s customized jewelry is in the discussion.

As Samantha sported an angelic look with customized floral accessories which were designed by Neeta Lulla, her look has become one of the most discussed topics.

‘Shakuntalam’ marks the first pan-India movie for Samantha, who reprises the queen in the mythological drama. Directed by Guna Sekhar, the movie will release soon.

On the occasion of actor Nani’s birthday, the makers of his upcoming movie ‘Ante Sundaraniki’ released a special glimpse titled ‘Barththday Homam’ (Birthday special religious ritual).

The glimpse from the Nani-starrer hints at the witty plot of the movie.

The ‘Barththday Homam’ video starts off with Sundaram (Nani) and his family members performing a religious event. Back-to-back religious rituals frustrate Sundaram, as he clearly expresses the same to his mother.

Sundaram’s mother tries to explain that according to his stars, he seems to be having dangers ahead in his life, and hence these remedies to please the Gods.

The video seems to be hinting at the kind of role Nani has portrayed in the movie, which is expected to be a funny one.

Nani will essay the role of ‘Kasthuri Poorna Venkata Sesha Sai Pawana Rama Sundara Prasad’ (a long, traditional name), while the lead actress Nazriya Nazim will be seen as Leela in ‘Ante Sundaraniki’.

Vivek Athreya, who came to fame for his super hit movies ‘Mental Madhilo’ and ‘Brochevarevaru Raa’ is the director for ‘Ante Sundaraniki’, while it is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner.

The Nani and Nazriya-starrer will hit the big screens on June 10.

Director Vignesh Shivan has delighted fans by releasing a behind-the-scenes video clip from the sets of his upcoming film ‘Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal’, featuring actors Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, and Samantha in the lead.

Sharing the video clip on Instagram, the director said, “When I made ‘Titanic’ with one Jack and two Roses! Special Clip from BTS for all the ‘Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal’ fans around. ”

The 53-second clip shows Nayanthara and Samantha arriving at the shooting spot, dressed like Kate Winslet in ‘Titanic’ for a song shoot. The clip also shows Vijay Sethupathi getting ready to appear like Jack Dawson, played by Leonardo di Caprio in ‘Titanic’.

The clip made it evident that there’s great camaraderie between the stars of the film. The unit also celebrated, what they called the ‘Twos Day’ on Tuesday.

Actress Samantha went on to post a picture of her with Nayanthara from the film on her Instagram page, saying, “20:02 On 22.2.2022 Special! To our special friendship Nayanthara! She’s not on social media but she sends you her love. Happy Twos Day.”

‘RRR’ makers all set for second phase of promotions

The second phase of promotions for S.S. Rajamouli’s much-awaited magnum opus ‘RRR’ will kick off soon.

As per reports, the producers of ‘RRR’ have made plans to resume the promotions, as the release date of the Ram Charan and Jr NTR-starrer is approaching on March 25.

Apparently, Rajamouli and his team, along with actors Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and Alia Bhatt will start promoting the movie from March 1. A big event is being planned in Dubai for the same.

Apart from the events, the team will be interacting with the media and the public during their visits to important cities.

Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Alia Bhatt, and Rajamouli had earlier promoted the film big time in December 2021 and January hoping that the film would release on January 7, as planned.

As a result of the third wave of Covid along with the shutting down of theatres in states such as Maharashtra and Delhi, along with night curfews, and other adversaries, the film was postponed.

Now that ‘RRR’ will hit the screens on March 25, the team will promote the movie yet again.

Actor Karthi, who also happens to be the younger brother of actor Suriya, on Wednesday thanked Ameer, director of his first film ‘Paruthiveeran’, on the occasion of the film completing 15 years.

The actor, who has gone on to emerge as one of the bankable stars in the Tamil film industry in the last 15 years, posted a note of gratitude on his Twitter timeline.

In the post, the actor said, “Fifteen golden years since ‘Paruthiveeran’. I feel blessed to have started my acting career with that film. Every move of mine was designed and tutored by Ameer sir and all the credit goes to him.

“Of the many lessons learned, I still treasure the way he taught me to immerse myself and enjoy the work that I do. Thanks to Ameer sir, Gnanavel , anna, my dear fans, and the media for ushering me into this beautiful path.”

The film, which went on to become a roaring success at the box office, also won two National Awards, one each for actress Priyamani and editor Raja Mohammad.

While discussing event films, he brought up the idea of a two-hero film – the kind of films we have all loved while growing up.”

“He said, ‘why don’t we make the biggest action entertainer ever!’ How could I have not jumped at this? He just thought of it and things manifested from there and it happened,” the actor concluded.

The angelic first-look poster of Samantha from her upcoming epic saga ‘Shakuntalam’ was released on Monday.

Producer Neelima Guna, who lauds the ‘Oh Baby’ actress for her dedication to work, reveals that Samantha Ruth Prabhu had to go through difficulties but still continued to film for ‘Shakuntalam’.

Samantha’s role required her to wear specially designed accessories, which caused rashes on her skin.

Producer Neelima Guna, who closely worked with Samantha on the sets of ‘Shakuntalam’ said, “At times, Samantha suffered from rashes while sporting floral jewelry. But she applied medication and continued to wear it. It was also a bit heavy for her, but she went that extra mile. Her efforts were truly inspiring”.

As Samantha reprises a role based on the mythological story, she had depicted an enchanting beauty, who was raised in a forest ashram. To bring in the resemblance, designer Neeta Lulla had styled special jewelry for Samantha.

“We used floral accessories, which were imported from Amsterdam. These accessories were customized to suit the current generation, while it will still showcase the special character”, Neelima said.

‘Shakuntalam’ is to hit the screens soon. The mythological movie is directed by Guna Sekhar.
