Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya confident about success of ‘Bangarraju’

The musical night event of Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya-starrer ‘Bangarraju’ was held in Hyderabad as the father-son duo sounded confident about the movie’s success.

Nagarjuna, during his speech, revealed that the theatrical trailer of ‘Bangarraju’ will be launched on January 11, a couple of days before the movie hits the screens.

The ‘Manmadhudu’ actor also remembers January 14, the release date of ‘Bangarraju’, as an important day for Annapurna Studios, because it was founded on the same date.

As the movie is prepping up with the other release formalities, Nagarjuna said, “Bangarraju is a proper Sankranthi festival film. It can be enjoyed with your friends and family this Sankranthi season.”

Naga Chaitanya thanked his team who had made it to the movie’s release even during the pandemic. As Chaitanya lauded director Kalyan Krishna, music director Anup Rubens, and the other team members, he became quite emotional.

“Telugu’s classical movie ‘Manam’ is one of the best movies for our family. Anup, who composed a blockbuster album for ‘Manam’ has hit the bull’s eye for ‘Bangarraju’, as I see all the songs from the movie have become viral”, Chaitanya said.

Chaitanya also conveyed that the movie will bring in the festivity. “Bangarraju has imbibed all the aspects of entertainment. We will bring the Sankranthi festival to the theatres.”

The music event ended on a high note, creating much buzz on the upcoming release of ‘Bangarraju’. Krithi Shetty, Faria Abdullah, other actresses, and the entire team were present at the musical event.

Naga Chaitanya and Nagarjuna are to appear on the screen together in this movie, which is billed as a socio-fantasy drama, touted to be a sequel to ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’.

Helmed by Kalyan Krishna, the movie also stars Ramya Krishna, Krithi Shetty, Faria Abdulla, and others in important roles.

While many other biggies like ‘Bheemla Nayak’, ‘Radhe Shyam’, and ‘RRR’ backed off from the Sankranthi race, ‘Bangarraju’ is set for theatrical release on January 14.

Kirti Kulhari turns producer with upcoming movie ‘Nayeka’

Actress Kirti Kulhari has made her name in the entertainment industry with movies such as ‘Pink’ and ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, now the actress is all set to show her talent as a producer with the upcoming feature film ‘Nayeka’.

The actress shares about the movie and says: “‘Nayeka’ is a story of a struggling actress who gets caught in a crime by mistake followed by a cat and mouse chase further leading into a series of crazy events.”

Kirti started shooting for the film on January 2.

She further elaborates on her new journey as a producer, saying: “When Vashisht (producer) first brought the film to me last year, I was immediately on board as an actor and I can proudly say I couldn’t have asked for a better start to my journey as a producer as well. The kind of content I choose as an actor is pretty much the content I would want to make as a producer too. ‘Nayeka’ is a fun space for me to explore something I’ve never done before.”

“It’s a fast paced dark comedy thriller and consists of very young, dynamic and talented people coming together. Director and writer Ajaykiran Nair has done a wonderful job. A unique script such as this makes for a perfect beginning to my journey as a producer.”

Kirti has launched her own production house called Kintsukuroi Films, whose first project will be a dark comedy thriller ‘Nayeka’ and she will be featuring in it.

She explains: “‘Kintsukuroi’ is a Japanese word which means the art of mending broken pottery with gold. The idea behind this thought is that when something is broken, one uses gold to mend it, making it even more beautiful than its initial broken state.”

“Similarly, with my production house, through the stories I wish to mend broken hearts and fill the emptiness in people’s lives through the art of films,” she adds.

Kirti says: “Starting a production house has been an organic thought that has stayed with me strongly for a couple of years. As an actor the last three years have been very fruitful for me and has got me interested in widening my horizon and delve into other aspects of filmmaking.”

‘Khichdi: The Movie’ actress says that the motive behind her production house is to create a more equal and collaborative atmosphere in the process of making a film and also to provide a platform to young talents.

“Unfortunately, a hierarchy does exist in the way things work and I would aim to bridge that gap, embrace and respect the talent brought to the table in all equality. The idea is also to create opportunities for the young talent. Be it writers, directors, actors, technicians,” asserts Kirti.

The shooting has started for the movie ‘Nayeka’, produced by Ward Wizard Entertainment in association with Kintsukuroi Films with producers Yatin Gupte, Sajid Melek, Vashisht Upadhyay and Kirti Kulhari is directed and written by Ajaykiran Nair.

Hrithik Roshan goes fierce, intense in first look of ‘Vikram Vedha’

Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan treated his fans with first look as Vedha of upcoming film Vikram Vedha, On his 48th birthday on Monday.

Hrithik took to Instagram, where he unveiled his look. Covered in blood, the actor is seen sporting a rugged yet intense look as he sports a heavy beard and mustache. The star completed his look with sunglasses and staring at the camera lens.

“VEDHA. #vikramvedha,” he wrote as the caption for the image, which currently has 882K likes on the photo-sharing website.

The film stars Hrithik and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles, with Radhika Apte in a crucial role. Pushkar and Gayatri, the original writers and directors, are donning the directora¿s hats for the Hindi remake as well.

A cult film in its own right ‘Vikram Vedha’ is a neo-noir action crime thriller film. Based on the Indian meta-folktale ‘Vikram aur Betaal’, the film tells the story of a tough police officer who sets out to track down and kill an equally tough gangster.

This original Tamil blockbuster starred R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi.

‘Vikram Vedha’ is presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series Films and Reliance Entertainment in association with Friday Filmworks and YNOT Studios Production.

The film is directed by Pushkar & Gayatri and produced by S. Sashikanth and produced by Bhushan Kumar.

‘Vikram Vedha’ will hit the big screens globally on September 30.

Samantha: I was able to overcome mental health issues thanks to my counsellors, friends

Samantha has spoken about the importance of mental health as she recounted her own struggle with mental health issues.

Samantha was invited as the chief guest for the launch of the ‘Psychiatry at your doorstep’ initiative of Roshini Trust and Datla Foundation.

Being in the spotlight for the issues in her private life right now, Samantha has provided a window into how she has handled those issues.

Samantha, who spoke at the event opened up about her mental health struggles and how many people helped her overcome those problems.

The ‘Rangasthalam’ actress said, “There should be no inhibitions about seeking help when you are mentally disturbed. In my case, I was able to overcome my mental health issues only with the help of my counsellors and friends.”

The actress also stressed the point that seeking help from psychiatrists must be normalised. “Like how we go to a doctor for physical injuries, we also should consult doctors if our heart gets hurt”, she said.

“If I am successful for the next part of my life, it is not because I was strong. But it is because many people around me helped me to be strong”, Samantha affirms.

“A lot of people are spending a lot of time and effort to help. It’s time for all of us to do our bit as well,” the ‘Oh Baby’ actress added.

Alia Bhatt ‘flexes’ beau Ranbir Kapoor’s photography skills

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt recently uploaded pictures clicked by her partner Ranbir Kapoor on social media.

It is the first time that the actress publicly addressed Ranbir as her ‘boyfriend’.

Alia took to Instagram and shared a few pictures of herself from her year-end vacation with Ranbir at an undisclosed location. She wrote in the caption, “Casually flexing my boyfriend’s photography skills.”

While Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor and Alia’ mom Soni Razdan commented with heart emojis under the pictures, Alia’ ‘Two States’ co-star Arjun Kapoor put up a quirky comment saying, “#phirseuddchale”.

Alia and Ranbir had jetted off to an undisclosed location to ring in the New Year amid the wilderness. In an earlier set of pictures shared by Alia on her Instagram, Ranbir too made an appearance in one of the images.

On the work front, Alia was supposed to be seen in S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’ alongside Telugu superstars Ram Charan and Jr NTR. However, the third wave of the pandemic has pushed the release of the film to a later, unannounced date.

Kamal Haasan bats for implementation of Right to Service Act

Noted actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief Kamal Haasan has urged the Tamil Nadu government to implement the Right to Service Act with immediate effect.

In a statement issued on Friday, Haasan said that this would lead to delivery of several services in a time-bound manner, which would eventually curb corruption.

The MNM chief said that the Act will help in delivering birth certificates, death certificates, legal heir certificates, and obtaining ration card in a time-bound manner.

The actor-politician urged the state government to pass the Act on Friday itself, as it is the last day of the ongoing Assembly session.

Haasan said that the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court had in 2019 urged the state government to mull over enacting the Right to Service Act, adding that the ruling DMK had also promised the enactment of the Act in its election manifesto, while the Governor also mentioned it in his address in the previous Assembly session.

He said that 20 states in the country have passed the Right to Services Act, including Punjab, Haryana, Karnataka and New Delhi, among others.

In Madhya Pradesh and Goa, there are separate departments to monitor the delivery of services, he said.

Mahesh Babu, Dulquer drop first single from Adivi Sesh’s ‘Major’

Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu and Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan, on Friday unveiled the first single from Adivi Sesh’s upcoming movie ‘Major’.

The song which goes with the title ‘Hrudayama’ is out in Telugu and Malayalam.

The makers of ‘Major’ have kickstarted the promotions for the movie, as they unveil the musical on Friday. While Mahesh Babu released the track ‘Hrudayama’ in Telugu, Dulquer Salmaan released it in Malayalam.

Billed to be a romantic number, the posters from the song hint at the chemistry between the love pair from ‘Major’.

‘Hrudayama’ is crooned by sensational singer Sid Sriram, while it is composed by Saicharan Pakala. The first single from the biographical movie was well-received by the music lovers, as it establishes a decent buzz around.

Touted to be the biopic of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, ‘Major’ stars Adivi Sesh, who essays the role of the 26/11 martyr. Helmed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, the movie is to unfold the story of the braveheart, who devoted his life, serving the country during the most vulnerable times.

‘Major’ is a multilingual movie, which is all set to hit the screens in Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil. Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar are the producers for ‘Major’ under G Mahesh Babu Entertainment and A+S Movies.

Lakshmi Manchu tests Covid positive, asks fans for movie recos

Popular Telugu actress Lakshmi Prasanna Manchu tested positive for Covid-19. Announcing this on social media, the ‘Pittakathalu’ actress sought recommendations on shows and movies to watch from her friends so that she can kill time during her isolation.

Manchu had been traveling to wrap up her shoot for the upcoming Malayalam movie ‘Monster’. In her post, she mentions that she had played “hide and seek” with the virus before it caught her.

Her younger brother and Telugu actor, Manchu Manoj, had earlier tested positive and isolated himself.

Urging her fans and followers to follow Covid protocols, the actress asked them to get vaccinated, and to go for booster shots if they are eligible, to reduce the risk of hospitalisation.

“They say, don’t run from your fears, attack them. Well, that didn’t turn out well for me,” Lakshmi wrote in her post.AShe said that Covid-19 had finally caught up with her after she had successfully played “hide-and-seek for two years from the ‘buchodu’ of 2020 and screaming GO CORONA GO.” ‘Buchodu’ is the Telugu word for ‘monster’.

Puneett Chouksey says he is enjoying acting and playing different roles

Television actor Puneett Chouksey says everything is possible in this profession and that one can live many lives in the roles they play.

He says: “Only in the acting profession is everything possible. As an artist, you can live in the role of completely different people, including robbers and bandits. And no one will punish you for that. Like I act for Ansh who is gray, but I’m not the same in my life. It’s fun to enjoy a beautiful creative journey of different roles which comes to my bag.”

Puneett is currently seen playing an antagonist in the show ‘Sirf Tum’. He was earlier seen in a gray shade in ‘Shakti Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki’. He is known for the titular role in the show ‘Naati Pinky Ki Lambi Love Story’.

Kubbra Sait tests Covid positive, urges people to do home tests

Bollywood actress Kubbra Sait, who is known for her stint on ‘Sacred Games’, has tested positive for Covid-19. She took to her Instagram story and posted a long text notifying her associates and people close to her about the diagnosis.

She wrote: “Hey beautiful peeps, first and foremost #maskup Second, I’ve tested positive with mild/asymptomatic Covid-19. If you were in contact with me, please run a home test … (so that we don’t burden the already burdened testing system).”

The actress, who was most recently seen on the Apple TV+ sci-fi show ‘Foundation’, reminded her social media followers that the country’s healthcare system is under immense strain because of the upsurge in cases.

Sait said: “I haven’t still received the results from the lab. It’s been 36 hours. Better stay indoors and take a break. You may not even realise you’re a carrier (at this stage).”

About the state of her health, she said she was doing fine and only had mild symptoms. “I’m alright. Resting and watching TV. Stay calm, consume loads of fluids, watch little TV and the phone. So in 5-7 days we can say #ByeOmicron.”
