Nicole Kidman took up smoking for film role

Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman plays the award-winning American star Lucille Ball in the new biographical drama film ‘Being The Ricardos’.

Kidman has revealed that she turned to smoking in order to perfect her “deep voice”, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

She shared: “They decided Lucy needed to have a deep smoker’s voice, so I started smoking. If I warm up for a minute, I now can do her voice standing on my head.”

Nicole also discussed how her age has impacted her career opportunities.

The actress, who is married to musician Keith Urban, told DuJour magazine: “There’s a consensus in the industry that as a female actor, at about 40, you’re done.”

“I never sat in a chair and heard someone say, ‘You’re past your due date,’ but I’ve had times where you’re turned down and the door is shut on you.”

Kidman made the comments shortly after conceding that she hasn’t got the voice to star in a Broadway musical.

The Oscar-winning actress is one of the most sought-after talents in Hollywood, but Kidman would feel “insecure” singing on Broadway.

Asked about the possibility, she replied: “I don’t think my voice is strong enough. It’s not strong enough. I mean, Broadway is like … and also I just would feel so insecure.”

Kidman is a huge fan of Broadway musicals — but she doesn’t feel ready to perform in one.

She said: “I want to go and watch Broadway. I love going to see Broadway. I can’t wait to see Hugh Jackman. ‘The Music Man’, here we come! But yeah, no. I don’t feel strong enough or secure enough to sing on Broadway.”

‘Bheemla Nayak’ makers apologise to Pawan’s fans as movie release postponed

The makers of Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati-starrer ‘Bheemla Nayak’ have apologised to the fans after they announced the postponement of the movie’s release to avert a clash with other big-budget films.

The makers, who were requested to postpone ‘Bheemla Nayak’ and back off from the Sankranthi race, announced a new release date of February 25 for the movie on Tuesday.

‘Bheemla Nayak’ producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, who took to his social media, wrote, “Apologies to all the fans. Sorry, it was out of my hands. I had to go by our hero @PawanKalyan gari words.”

“As you’ll know he’s always inclined to the welfare of this industry,” Vamsi wrote.

“I promise you all, this Shivarathri, a storming force will hit the screens! #BheemlaNayakon25thFeb”,” he added.

The producer’s guild of Telugu movies had a meeting where they discussed the upcoming movie releases.

In order to avert a clash at the box-office, the bigwigs of the Telugu film industry decided to request the makers of ‘Bheemla Nayak’ and ‘F3’ to postpone their respective movies.

The reasons quoted for the postponement include the distribution of theatres for the big-ticket movies during Sankranthi, along with other problems related to movie collections.

As ‘Bheemla Nayak’ is out of the race now, S.S. Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ and Radha Krishna Kumar’s ‘Radhe Shyam’ will be the two big movies that would compete at the box-office during Sankranthi.

Ram Charan’s dramatic transformation for ‘RRR’ catches the eye

Ram Charan, who is all set for the release of ‘RRR’, has been promoting the movie along with the cast and his transformation in the film is much talked about.

Ram Charan has been saying that working with S.S. Rajamouli has made him a better actor.

The makers of ‘RRR’ released a video of Ram Charan, in which his transformation for ‘RRR’ is shown.

The video shows off Ram Charan’s hard work, as he portrays three different phases as ‘Alluri Seetharama Raju’ in the film.

As Ram Charan said in one of his interviews, the video hints at the huge transformation of a star, physically, mentally, and visually.

The video starts off with Ram Charan’s entry on the sets of ‘RRR’, while he switches as a sepoy in the next scene. As the video goes on, Ram Charan’s different get-ups are featured, which shows the scene-to-scene transformation.

In every other shot, Ram Charan appears in unique styling, along with his physical looks. The actor had to undergo a huge makeover for the kind of exotic looks he has portrayed in ‘RRR’.

“@alwaysramcharan #InTheMaking of #RRRMovie. Witness India’s biggest action drama from 7th January, only in theatres #MakeTheReelYou #InstagramIndia #RamCharan”, the makers wrote, as they shared the video on Ram Charan’s transformation.

This is the first time that Telugu’s biggest stars have come together for a movie. Ram Charan and Jr NTR-starrer ‘RRR’ is set to hit the screens on January 7.

Rajamouli thanks Pawan, Mahesh, Dil Raju for averting box-office clash

With the release of Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati’s ‘Bheemla Nayak’ being postponed, the makers of ‘RRR’ and ‘Radhe Shyam’ will not have to face a clash at the box-office.

‘RRR’ director S.S. Rajamouli and the makers of ‘Radhe Shyam’ took to social media to thank the makers of ‘Bheemla Nayak’ and ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ as they agreed to postpone their respective movies’ release, in order to avoid a clash.

Tollywood is known for its big-ticket releases during Sankranthi festival. So filmmakers focus on the release of their movies during this particular season, keeping many aspects in consideration.

Given the fact that there were 5 big releases during Sankranthi, the producers guild has settled a conflict over the release dates, so as to avoid a box-office clash.

Rajamouli also thanked actor Mahesh Babu especially, as he was the one who took the initiative and moved out of the Sankranti race first and postponed his movie ‘Sarkaru Vaari Pata’ to April 1.

“@urstrulyMahesh was the one who took the initative in decluttering the Pongal releases… Even though #SarkaruVaariPaata was a perfect Pongal film, he moved it to summer and created a healthy atmosphere. Thanks to my Hero and also to the entire team at @MythriOfficial”, Rajamouli’s tweet reads.

Rajamouli also added, “Also, thanks to Dil Raju garu and the #F3Movie team for shifting the release of their film. Best wishes!”.

The ‘RRR’ director also thanked the makers of ‘Bheemla Nayak’, “The decision by Chinababu garu and Pawan Kalyan garu to defer the release date of #BheemlaNayak is well appreciated. Wishing the team all the very best…:).”

Now, only ‘RRR’ (January 7), ‘Radhe Shyam’ (January 14), and ‘Bangarraju’ are to be released during the Sankranthi festival.

Vaani Kapoor: Ayushmann likes to walk on the road less travelled

Actress Vaani Kapoor has praised her ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ co-star Ayushmann Khurrana for constantly putting himself up for test and said that the actor likes to walk on road less travelled, which is why he is so important in the landscape of Indian cinema today.

Vaani, who plays a transgender woman in ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’, said: “It is gutsy for an A-list actor like Ayushmann to constantly put himself up for test when he could easily choose conventional subjects for success.

“From what I know of Ayushmann, he likes to walk on the road less travelled and that’s why he is so important in the landscape of Indian cinema today.”

The actress said that he is “a genre-bending, envelope-pushing star who is restless to contribute towards societal good.”

“This is what makes him so endearing and incredibly unique.”

Vaani said that it was important that a film like ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ had Ayushmann so that it became palatable for family audiences.

“That’s how important Ayushmann is to Indian cinema today. He will stand by projects that are disruptive and important for people to ponder over. He has created a genre of his own today and there are not many stars in the history of Indian cinema who have managed to do this.”

She is really happy that she got a chance to collaborate with Ayushmann and connect with him.

“I hope Ayushmann stays on course and further challenges the status quo in the Indian film industry.”

Ayushmann will be next seen in Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Anek’, Anubhuti Kashyap’s ‘Doctor G’ and filmmaker Aanand L. Rai’s ‘Action Hero’ being directed by debutant Anirudh Iyer.
