Vignesh Shivan pleased as punch as ‘Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal’ shoot resumes

Director Vignesh Shivan, who has a series of reasons to smile, has said the final schedule of his much awaited romantic entertainer ‘Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal’, starring Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, had resumed in Mysore.

Interestingly, the director posted pictures of him in a train and said that it was much better than being in any flight.

Taking to Instagram, he said, “In a train after a long time. Much better than any flight KRK – final final schedule – resuming in Mysore.”

The director has been in the news for all the right reasons over the last few days.

First, it was news of his film ‘Pebbles’ being selected as India’s official entry to the Oscars. Next, his lyrics for the ‘Mother Song’ in Ajith’s ‘Valimai’ set the Internet on fire and won him widespread appreciation.

To add to this, the praise that ‘Rocky’, a film that actress Nayanthara and he are presenting, has got, have all added to the delight of the director.

Naga Chaitanya, Raashi Khanna-starrer ‘Thank You’ to release only in theatres

Putting all rumours to rest, the makers of Telugu film ‘Thank You’ that features actors Naga Chaitanya and Raashi Khanna in the lead, on Wednesday announced that their film would release only in theatres and not on OTT as was being speculated.

Sri Venkateshwara Creations, the production house producing the film, put out a poster containing its statement.

The statement read, “‘Thank You’ movie is now in the final stages of production. We have made this film with immense dedication and we believe it is an experience to be witnessed only on the big screen. ‘Thank You’ movie will release in theatres just when the time is right.”

The same poster carrying this message was also posted by the film’s heroine Raashi Khanna on her timeline.

Directed by Vikram Kumar, work on the film which is a romantic comedy was progressing at a brisk pace. However, the pandemic put a spanner in the works and shooting had to be postponed. This led to specualation on social media.

The filmmakers, through this clarification, have sought to end the speculation.

Balakrishna gets emotional about legendary father NTR and controversies over his death

The latest promo of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s celebrity talk show ‘Unstoppable With NBK’ depicts the host speaking emotionally about his late father and Telugu cinema icon N.T. Rama Rao.

Balakrishna’s ‘Akhanda’, also stars Pragya Jaiswal and is directed by Boyapati Srinu.

The whole team was present on the show, sharing some fun chats. Pragya Jaiswal, actor Srikanth, Boyapati Srinu, S.S. Thaman are seen having a great time on the show. Apart from the fun and games, Balakrishna is seen cracking jokes, being perky, and the others enjoy his hosting on the show.

Balakrishna also openly announced that he is ready to take up a villain’s role if anyone is ready with a script. “My only condition is, I must be the hero too” said Balakrishna whose witty comments made everyone laugh all the way.

Srikanth, Boyapati Srinu, and Balakrishna are seen involved in a conversation, while Balakrishna also dances with Pragya.

Towards the end of the promo, Balakrishna is seen talking about the most controversial topic, as he gets emotional. For the first time, Balakrishna speaks about his late father N.T. Rama Rao, the ex-Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

“Most of the people believed the rumours about dad’s death. People were made to believe about him being backstabbed and betrayed. This makes me emotional, as I am one of his sons, and I am one of his fans,” Balakrishna said.

Prabhas donates Rs 1 crore to Andhra CM Relief Fund for flood victims

Actor Prabhas has donated a huge amount of Rs 1 crore to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. After the recent floods which caused devastation in some areas of the state, the ‘Baahubali’ actor has donated the money.

Earlier, Prabhas, who is well-known for his generosity apart from his movies, had come forward to donate a whopping amount of Rs 4.5 crore to help the needy during Covid-19. Now that the actor has made a huge donation in favour of flood-hit people in Andhra Pradesh, he is being praised for his generosity.

The Telugu film industry has contributed significantly in the form of donations to help the flood victims. Actors Ram Charan, Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR, Allu Arjun, and others have donated a sizable amount of money.

On the work front, Prabhas is awaiting the release of ‘Radhe Shyam’ which is hitting the marquee on January 14. He will then wrap up his shooting formalities with ‘KGF’ fame Prashanth Neel for their upcoming movie ‘Salaar’ while Om Raut’s ‘Adipurush’ is under production too.

Ram Charan’s new poster from ‘RRR’ is all muscle and action

After launching the new action-packed poster of Jr NTR on Monday, the makers of ‘RRR’ revealed yet another impressive poster of Ram Charan.

The brand new posters unveiled by the makers are being lauded by fans, as they amplify the existing hype around the pan-India project.

Ram Charan, who plays Alluri Sitarama Raju in S.S. Rajamouli’s directorial ‘RRR’, is seen in one of the fiercest avatars in the poster released by the team. Showcasing his ripped physique and six-pack abs, the makers hint at the kind of role Ram Charan is portraying in the movie.

The two posters, which were launched on the same day, have set the action tone for the film through the characters portrayed by Ram Charan and Jr NTR.

The makers, who are leaving no stone unturned to promote this pan-Indian movie, have succeeded in creating anticipation further for the audience wanting more.

‘RRR’ is a fictional story about two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, who fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad.

Though the duo do not belong to the same time period, Rajamouli has conveyed that he tried to take the cinematic liberty to create a beautiful, soul-stirring story around the two.

Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, and others appear in important roles in ‘RRR’. The movie is all set to hit the screens across the world, on January 7.

Allu Arjun’s action drama ‘Pushpa’ trailer unveiled

The much-anticipated theatrical trailer of ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ starring Allu Arjun has been unveiled which showcases most of the characters in the upcoming action drama.

Loaded with action blocks and mass elements, the theatrical trailer of ‘Pushpa’ gives a glimpse of what the makers have readied to cater to the audience, at the theatres. Starting off with stunning visuals, the makers hint at the background of the movie.

Themed on red sandalwood smuggling in the remote parts of Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, the ‘Pushpa’ trailer introduces Allu Arjun as Pushpa Raj. With the establishment of other characters, the makers amplify the anticipation around the release.

A few one-liners by Allu Arjun are being lauded, as the native accent appeals well. “Do you assume the meaning of my name Pushpa as a flower? No!! It is Fire!!!”, Arjun’s dialogue says in Telugu.

The forest-based action shots in the trailer leave an impression on viewers. While all of the actors have portrayed highly-transformed roles, the rustic set-up adds to the native appeal.

‘Pushpa’ is slated for release on December 24. Helmed by Telugu filmmaker Sukumar, the songs and the music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad. ‘Pushpa’ also marks Allu Arjun’s maiden pan-Indian movie, as it is releasing in multiple languages across the country.

Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead, while Ajay Gosh, Sunil Varma, Anasuya Bharadwaj appear in important roles. Malayalam star Fahad Fassil appears as one of the baddies in the movie.

Release of Prabhu Deva-starrer ‘Thael’ gets postponed

The release of director Harikumar’s ‘Thael’, featuring actors Prabhu Deva and Samyuktha Hegde in the lead, has been postponed, its makers announced late on Monday.

Studio Green Productions, the production house that has produced the action thriller, said in a statement that the release of Thael had been postponed because of “unforeseen situations”.

A new release date will be announced soon, they said, adding: “We will meet you soon with the film.”

‘Thael’, which means ‘scorpion’ in Tamil, was originally scheduled to hit screens on December 10. The film has music by C. Sathya and cinematography by Vignesh Vasu. It has been edited by National Award winner K.L. Praveen.

Interestingly, Prabhu Deva, who is known for his dancing skills, does not have a single dance number in this film.

‘KatVic’ Wedding: Complaint filed against celebrity couple, venue manager, DC

A Rajasthan-based advocate has filed a complaint with the District Legal Services Authority against the closure of the road leading to the Chauth Mata temple from December 6-12 owing to the marriage of Bollywood stars Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif scheduled in Sawai Madhopur district, near here.

Advocate Naitrabind Singh Jadoun filed the complaint against the manager of Six Senses Fort Barwara, the venue for the celebrity wedding, Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal and the District Collector against the closure of the road leading to the temple. Along with this complaint, in view of the problems faced by the devotees, a request has been made to open the way to the temple.

Jadaun said in his complaint that he has no objection to the event.

“Chauth Ka Barwara accommodates a historical temple of Chauth Mata, which is centuries old. Everyday, hundreds of devotees visit the temple and offer their prayers. Hotel Six Senses is located on the way to the temple. The hotel manager has closed the road leading to the temple under the supervision of the District Collector from December 6-12. Due to this, the devotees are facing a lot of trouble in reaching the temple. For the next six days, the main road leading from Hotel Six Senses to the temple will be completely closed. In such a situation, keeping in mind the sentiments of the common man and the devotees, the way to the Chauth Mata temple should be opened from the front side of Hotel Six Senses,” Jadaun said in his complaint.

Arun Matheswaran’s Tamil crime thriller ‘Rocky’ to release on Dec 23

Director Arun Matheswaran’s ‘Rocky’, featuring actor Vasanth Ravi and Bharthirajaa in the lead, will hit screens on December 23, its makers announced on Monday.

Produced by C.R. Manoj Kumar, the film is presented by director Vignesh Shivan and actress Nayanthara.

The movie has been garnering attention ever since its trailer released in September 2019. The gritty, intense crime thriller, which does not have a female lead, is basically a revenge story, sources close to the unit disclosed.

Taking to Twitter, director Vignesh Shivan, who is presenting the film, said, “The raw & gritty world of Rocky is making its way to theatres! Rowdy Pictures is proud to present this one of a kind film! Make your way to the theatres and witness the world of Rocky from December 23rd.”

The film, which has cinematography by Shreyaas Krishna, has music by Darbuka Siva.

Prithviraj catches up with ‘Bheemla Nayak’ countepart Rana Daggubati

Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran on Monday took to Twitter to post a picture with Telugu hero Rana Daggubati. The special picture was captured during the shoot of Prithviraj’s directorial ‘Bro Daddy’ in Hyderabad.

“Throwback to when #DanielShekhar met #KoshyKurien on the sets of #BroDaddy @RanaDaggubati #BhimlaNayak #BroDaddy”, Prithviraj Sukumaran wrote on his Twitter timeline, as he shared the special picture.

In the picture, both Prithviraj and Rana are seen smiling from ear to ear, as they have a heartfelt conversation on the sets of ‘Bro Daddy’. Rana Daggubati is reprising Prithviraj Sukumaran’s role, in the upcoming movie ‘Bheemla Nayak’. ‘Bheemla Nayak’ is the Telugu remake of Malayalam hit movie ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’, in which Prithviraj plays an important role.

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s role is named Koshi Kurien in ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’, while Rana Daggubati reprises the negative role with the name Daniel Shekhar in Pawan Kalyan’s upcoming movie ‘Bheemla Nayak’. That is why Prithviraj mentioned, “Daniel Shekhar met Koshy Kurien”, as he shared the picture.

‘Bheemla Nayak’ is slated for release on January 12, 2022. Helmed by Sagar K. Chandra, the team has Trivikram Srinivas, who penned the screenplay and dialogues. S.S. Thaman is the music composer and Surya Devara Naga Vamsi has produced the movie under Sithara Entertainments.
