Raashii Khanna starts final leg of shoot for ‘Andhadhun’ Malayalam remake

Actress Rashi Khanna has started shooting for the last schedule of the untitled Malayalam remake of the Bollywood hit Andhadun. The film is currently on floors in Kochi.

In the remake, Rashii will portray the character essayed by Radhika Apte in the Hindi original. Prithviraj plays the male protagonist, essayed by Ayushmann Khurrana.

“I was in awe of the storyline of ‘Andhadhun’ when I saw it. I wondered what it might have been like to be part of such an edgy film. It is surreal to be shooting for its Malayalam remake helmed by the one and only Ravi K. Chandran. We have begun shooting for the final leg of the film and each moment at the location is exciting. Not to mention, I have one of the most beautiful coastal cities in India to myself after the shoot!” says Rashi.

The actress will be stationed in Kochi for almost a week. Before this schedule Rashii finished the shoot of Raj and DK’s untitled web series starring Shahid Kapoor.

Rashi has enjoyed a string of successes with films such as Prati Roju Bandage, Venky Mama, Imaikkaa Nodigal, Tholi Prema, and Jai Lava Kusa.

Anjali Tatrari: I cannot do saas-bahu drama

Actress Anjali Tatrari, who is currently seen on the sitcom Sargam Ki Sadhe Satin, says when it comes to picking up characters for television, she likes to keep them real and relatable. She avoids roles that are typical.

The actor, who has been part of the show Mere Dad Ki Dulhan, says: “None of the shows that I have been part of have been very ‘TV-like’. My first show Mere Dad ki Dulhan was also not a regressive show. ‘Sargam Ki Sadhe Satii’ is a sitcom, and we hardly have any sitcoms today on TV. I have been very sure of the content that I want to do and I am very specific about the roles that I pick up. I cannot do a saas-bahu drama, I am not convinced about the characters,” she says.

The actress says she always tries to give her characters a realistic look and feel. “In this show, I don’t put make-up while sleeping because in real life, too, I don’t sleep that way,” she says.

Anjali adds that all kinds of shows do well on TV.

“TV has different kinds of audiences. Supernatural shows and saas-bahu shows have their audiences. That is why these shows are running. But for my shows, I have always dealt with the kind of audience which doesn’t enjoy this. TV is evolving for sure,” she says.

Talking about her new show, she says: “Just like the name, the show is very interesting. The script is well-written. It is absolutely hilarious. The show revolves around Sargam’s life and how the time 7:30 is not lucky for her,” she says about the Sony TV show.

Nimrat Kaur concerned about cats disappearing near her Noida home

Actress Nimrat Kaur on Wednesday expressed her concern about stray cats disappearing near her Noida home, where her parents live.

Talking to IANS, Nimrat said: “My parents live in Noida and we have lived there for almost 26 years. They have been feeding stray cats for many years now and a lot of them come to our house and play on the balcony. Between yesterday and today, all of them have gone missing except for one cat that hasn’t stepped out. My mother found two of them dead and there were no injury marks. You can tell when an animal has been poisoned.”

The actress eventually reached out to animal welfare organisations for help.

“I spoke to animal welfare organizations and they told me the right thing to do is to retain the body and send it for post mortem. Somebody has to confirm it is a case of poisoning and then an official FIR can be lodged,” she said.

“The ground reality is that even if someone has seen (the animal being poisoned), no oneknows’ about it. We really want to request people to not do something (so barbaric). We are short of words. My parents are gutted. To deceit and starve an animal, I don’t have words for such atrocities,” shares the actress.

Earlier on Wednesday, Nimrat had tweeted: “My folks in Noida feed a whole lot of stray cats for years now. Some of the kittens were found dubiously dead this morning and all the rest have gone untraceable. Poisoning seems to be suspected. Is there any organization oen can reach out to for assistance with this matter?”

On the work front, the actress will soon be seen in the film “Dasvi”. She recently shared her first look in the film on social media.

Parineeti Chopra: Actors are a mix of being thick-skinned and being soft

Parineeti Chopra says that criticism, judgment, and scrutiny are a part of an actor’s everyday life. She adds that actors are an amazing mix of being very thick-skinned and very soft and emotional inside.

Parineeti is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film “The Girl On The Train”, a remake of the Hollywood film starring Emily Blunt and is based on the book having the same name.

Talking about possible comparisons leading to criticism, Parineeti told IANS: “I think criticism, judgment, and scrutiny are a part of actors’ everyday lives. I think the amount of rejection an actor goes through, nobody goes through in their lives. We are rejected for an outfit that we wear or a photo might click. We are rejected for who we might date, we are rejected for a film we do, and at the auditions.”

“Actors are an amazing mix of being very thick-skinned but being soft and emotional inside, and that is why this job has an edge over so many other jobs,” she added.

In the film, Parineeti will be seen playing Meera Kapoor, an alcoholic widow who gets embroiled in a murder investigation.

Parineeti continued: “There are times when you get world attention and love and you could go back to an empty house or you can do a 100 crore hit film and have nobody to call. There are various things that can happen. So, the point I am trying to make is that they are very thick-skinned, they are made for criticism and they are ready for the love they receive. So, it goes hand-in-hand,” she said.

Parineeti is not worried about comparisons. “We honestly are excited because we have a very good reference point. The film was received well, the book was of course a huge hit. We are positive that we are riding on a good train. We just hope that that film and book was appreciated and we are appreciated also,” she said.
