Michael B Jordon didn’t think he could direct until he worked with Ryan Coogler

Hollywood star Michael B. Jordon, who dabbled in direction for the first time with ‘Creed 3’, said that for him, directing was something that he didn’t think was possible until working with Ryan Coogler.

Having familiar faces in front of and behind the camera wasn’t lost on first-time director Jordan, who revels in having fulfilled a long-held dream.

“Directing, for me, was something that I didn’t think was possible until working with Ryan Coogler,” he said.

“The first time I stepped on set for ‘Fruitvale Station’ and saw a young black man from a similar place as me, around my age, directing a feature film, I saw myself in him. And Ryan eventually told me, ‘Mike, there’s no right time for this – when you find something that speaks to you, just jump for it and go for it.’ I’ve been quietly watching and learning, listening, and putting together things that inspire and excite me. And that’s what I did with ‘Creed III’.”

Warner Bros. Pictures is all set to release part 3 of the ‘Creed’ franchise, headlined by Michael B. Jordan, pan India on March 3, 2023.

Debina Bonnerjee infected with influenza B virus

TV actress Debina Bonnerjee has shared that she has been detected with the influenza B virus and is staying away from her family.

Debina’s two daughters, Lianna and Divisha are completely fine and thus the actress is making sure to keep them safe.

The actress shared her report on her Instagram stories with a caption: “So got Influenza B virus well hang on mamma! staying away from my babies now.. motherhood is anything but easy..symptom:- fever and cough”.

Her spokesperson mentioned that: “Debina Bonnerjee who was a little unwell for the last few days had been taking precautions already but when the cold did not get any better she got tested to know influenza B virus is what she has been detected with.”

“She is recovering, taking good precautions, eating well, and making sure her babies are away and looked after well… She is on her road to recovery and will be back stronger,” said her spokesperson.

Recently, Debina shared pictures of her Sri Lanka trip where she had gone with her husband to celebrate their wedding anniversary. It was their babies’ first international trip.

The couple got married on February 15, 2011, and had their first baby, Lianna on April 3, 2022, and their second baby girl, Divisha on November 11, 2022.

On the professional front, Debina has been part of a number of TV shows including ‘Ramayan’, ‘Chidiya Ghar’, ‘Santoshi Maa’, ‘Tenali Rama’, ‘Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga’, and many more. She also participated in the dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye 6’ and was a contestant in the popular stunt-based show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 5’.

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who swayed the nation with “Oo Antava”, suffered an injury while shooting for the Indian adaptation of “Citadel”.

The actress took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday and shared a picture of her bruised hands after shooting for some action sequences. She captioned her post “perks of action”.

Earlier, the actress had also shared a video in which she can be seen practising action sequences with stunt performer and action director Yannick Ben. She could be seen preparing for the action shoot in Nainital.

‘RRR’ does it again, bags 4 big honours at HCA Awards

As the Oscar race gets intense, filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus continues to make waves on the global canvas as ‘RRR’ bagged 4 awards at the Hollywood Critics Association (HCA) Awards.

The film won Best International Film, Best Action Film, Best Stunts, and Best Original Song for the Oscar-nominated track ‘Naatu Naatu’. The film managed to beat the Tom Cruise-starrer ‘Top Gun: Maverick’.

As Rajamouli took to the stage, he was joined by actor, Ram Charan to accept the Best International Film award.

Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan, whose latest film ‘Shehzada’ released on February 17, has looked back at his film ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ on its fifth anniversary. The actor shared a sweet throwback on the occasion.

Taking to his social media, Kartik on Thursday shared the climax scene of ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’, and further added a glimpse of the extremely popular friendship song, ‘Tera Yaar Hoon Main’ from the film, marking its five years.

As he re-lived the memories of the film, he wrote in the caption: “5 years ago, this day turned into Friendship’s Day. And Sonu became an inseparable part of our lives. Thank you Sonu ko apne dil se lagaane ke liye #5YearsOfSonuKeTituKiSweety.”

Bengaluru Open: Nagal goes down fighting; Anirudh-Prashanth, Kadhe-Neuchrist in doubles semis

Sumit Nagal fought bravely but went down 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 to Max Purcell in a thrilling pre-quarterfinals of the Bengaluru Open 2023 at the KSLTA Stadium here on Thursday.

However, the Indian camp had a reason to smile as the doubles pair of Anirudh Chandrasekhar and N. Prashanth reached the semifinals, overcoming Benjamin Lock of Zimbabwe and Australia’s Akira Santillan 3-6, 6-4, 12-10.

Later, Arjun Kadhe also entered the doubles semifinals in the company of Austria’s Max Neuchrist. The duo beat 7-5, 6-3 win over Frederico Silva and Dimitar Kuzmanov.

The Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA) is organizing the prestigious ATP Challenger event at the KSLTA Stadium in Bengaluru.

Nagal, who had to fight through a tough three-setter against Nam Hoang Ly in the previous round, started off brightly winning the first set 6-4. The Indian was solid in all facets of the game and did not lose a single point on his second serve.

Purcell looked shaky and could win only 33 percent of his second serve points but the Australian harnessed his assets to better effect in the second set. Purcell, the defending Wimbledon doubles champion, upped his game a notch higher and used his booming serve to earn some quick points.

He affected a break in the eighth game for a 5-3 lead and then bagged the second set 6-3 with an easy hold.

The third set also offered a similar pattern as both players held their serves until the 6th game. Purcell, though, looked more sorted of the two as the Aussie combined his big serves with equally powerful ground shots.

Purcell made the crucial break in the seventh game for a 4-3 lead and then held his serve to stretch the lead to 5-3. Under pressure to stay in the match, Nagal fought hard in the ninth game but Purcell clinched the break and sealed the game, set and match in his favour.

Meanwhile, No. 5 seed Luca Nardi and Dimitar Kuzmanov also made their way into the Last-8 with contrasting wins. While Nardi fought hard against Jason Jung during his 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 victory, Kuzmanov thrashed Alibek Kachmazov 6-3, 6-4.

India’s Ramkumar Ramanathan and his Italian partner Francesco Maestrelli crashed out in the quarterfinals following a 6-3, 6-4 defeat to the top-seeded Australian duo of Purcell and Marc Polmans.

The songstress, 53, shared an Instagram video filled with special family moments to mark Max and Emme’s 15th birthday, reports People magazine.

“Happy birthday to my beautiful, brilliant coconuts,” she wrote in the caption, using the nickname she has for the twins, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony. “I am so proud of you both in every single way. You bring so much joy and happiness to my heart and soul. I love you beyond forever HAPPY BIRTHDAY #Twins.”
