Hindi version of Prabu Solomon’s ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’ to be aired on DTH

Rana Daggubati and Pulkit Samrat-starrer ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’ will have a direct-to-television release on Zee Cinema. The film traces the narrative of a man fighting for the rights of elephants and the ecosystem.

It was filmed in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. While ‘Kaadan’ in Tamil and ‘Aranya’ in Telugu have already been released, the Hindi version was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Written and directed by Prabu Solomon, the movie features ‘Baahubali’ actor Rana Daggubati as the protector of the elephants and nature, along with Pulkit Samrat, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Zoya Hussain and Anant Mahadevan in pivotal roles.

Sharing his experience, Rana said: “We have a great story to tell with ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’. It is a wholesome journey of a man who is closely connected to nature, best friends with elephants and a faithful protector of their community. The film draws light on some serious issues faced by these communities and the thorough dedication to the cause.”

Set in deep forests and right in the middle of royal elephants and their protector community, ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’ shows those emotions which connect humans and animals.

Talking about the film, director Prabu Solomon said: “When I first thought of this story, I had a clear vision of what I wanted to convey. I wanted to put across a germ of thought with a potential to ignite progressive conversations around the cause of protecting elephants and nature.”

The movie is produced by Eros Motion Pictures and is scheduled to release directly on Zee Cinema followed by streaming on Eros Now on September 18.

‘Balika Vadhu’ star, ‘Bigg Boss 13’ winner Sidharth Shukla dies at 40

‘Bigg Boss 13’ winner Sidharth Shukla, best known for his role in the long-running TV serial ‘Balika Vadhu’, died here after a massive heart attack on Thursday.

He was 40 years old and is survived by his mother and two sisters. A Cooper Hospital spokesperson said here that the actor was “brought dead” in the morning.

Shukla was known for being fit and had even won the reality show, ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7’. He also hosted ‘Savdhaan India’ and ‘India’s Got Talent’.

Trailer of Nani-starrer ‘Tuck Jagdish’ launched

The trailer of the Telugu film ‘Tuck Jagadish’, which is set for world premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 10, was released here on Wednesday.

The Telugu family drama starring Nani in the lead will be available to audiences across the world on Amazon Prime Video.

The trailer was launched at a glittering event in the presence of Nani and Ritu Varma, who plays the female lead, and other members of the cast and crew.

Directed by Shiva Nirvana, the movie has been produced by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi under the banner of Shine Screens.

Jagapathi Babu, Aishwarya Rajesh, Thiruveer, Vaishnavi Chaitanya, Devadarshini and Daniel Balaji are some of the other actors.

Set in Andhra Pradesh, the film narrates the life and journey of Jagadish Naidu (played by Nani) as he traverses through the ups and downs in his family life, thereby highlighting the special bond and conflicts between siblings in his closely-knit joint family.

The movie has a mixed bag of emotional moments, action sequences and music, making it a complete family entertainer.

“The film is an intense family drama. It’s all about an emotionally rich family relationship,” said Nani.

The actor also described ‘Tuck Jagdish’ as nostalgic.

“It’s like the movies we have grown watching and we were missing. It has been long since stories of sibling rivalry, their complex relationship and sensitive family have been handled. We have not seen such a movie in the last 15-20 years,” the actor said.

He was all praise for director Shiva for deftly handling the story of emotional relationship. Nani said while family emotions have been the strength of Shiva, ‘Tuck Jagdish’ has taken this to the next level.

Shiva is confident that the audiences would like the movie being released on Ganesh Chaturthi.

Riddhima laughingly says: “Yes, I was studying in London and had returned home during the holidays. I was just sitting around one day and saw one of his female friends come home. Then I noticed that the top she was wearing was very similar to the one I had. It was then that I realised that to save his pocket money, he used to give most of my belongings.”

Dance reality show ‘Dance+’ Season 6 set to release on OTT

The upcoming sixth season of popular dance reality show ‘Dance+’ is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on September 14. The show will release on the OTT platform ahead of television.

Director-choreographer Remo D’Souza will be the Super Judge while Raghav Juyal returns as a host once again.

Talking about his return with ‘Dance+ Season 6’, Remo said: “I am glad to make a comeback as the super judge on Dance+, the biggest dance reality show. This opportunity gives me a scope to share my knowledge of dance, something I dearly love and have built my life on. I know this season will be packed with many mind-blowing performances because Shakti, Salman and Punit are fantastic dancers themselves.”

While he keeps an eye on the fierce competition amongst contestants, Remo will once again be seen judging three of his dance protégés for their mentorship skills and captaincy. These include, Salman Y Khan, who is stepping into the role of a captain for the first time, Shakti Mohan – who returns this season and returning captain on the show, Punit J. Pathak.

The host for the sixth season of Dance+, Raghav Juyal said: “Returning to the Dance+ stage is like a reunion of friends and family. I have known each of the captains, and Remo sir for years now and the beauty of being the host here is that it doesn’t feel like a job. Cricketers Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag will be the special guests on ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 13’ this Friday. On the ‘Shaandaar Shukravaar’ episode, the cricket legends will be seen playing along with host Amitabh Bachchan.

During an interaction, when asked about creating various strategies on field and matching it up to strategies to win the maximum amount from the show, Ganguly shared: “We’ve planned a lot of strategies but we were nervous. Because for years, I was on the other side and now I’m on this side. And now that I am on this side, I know how difficult it is.”

He continued to say: “When we won the Natwest Trophy in 2002, Sehwag and I used to open and went to bat and had to make 325 runs so I told Sehwag that now it is going to be 15 overs when the fielders are going to be inside so don’t hit it so much and he agreed. The first strike they put, he (Sehwag) hit a mid-off four. I told him ‘See, Veeru in the first ball we got 4 runs, now you continue to play singles, we’ll have an 8 in the over so we’ll be steady with the run rate. And he agreed.”

Sourav shared further: “The next ball came and he again took a mid-off shot. The third ball, he again hit a four and then I didn’t go to him. In 6 balls, he hit 5 fours. Fourth was a sweep and fifth he hit through the third man and he would’ve hit the sixth also but he must’ve felt pity for me.”

Adding to this, Virender Sehwag said: “He was the captain, whatever he said, we just blindly followed it.” Responding to this, Sourav Ganguly added: “I just gave you an example of that. There are many stories which I will share.”

The winning amount will be used for social causes.

After a theatrical release, actor Vishwak Sen’s Telugu comedy ‘Paagal’ will get a global digital release on September 3.

Directed by Naresh Kuppili, ‘Paagal’ is a quirky tale of love starring Vishwak Sen, Nivetha Pethuraj, Simran Choudhary and Megha Lekha.

Set in Visakhapatnam, the film centres around Prem, a flamboyant young man, who out of despair following his mother’s demise sets out to seek the love of his life. His quest however leads him to multiple women he falls for until Cupid truly strikes and brings along with it challenges Prem hadn’t bargained for.

‘Paagal’ also features Rahul Ramakrishna, Murali Sharma, Mahesh Achanta, and Indraja Shankar in pivotal roles.

The film will stream digitally on Amazon Prime Video on September 3.

Reticent Pawan Kalyan compliments Stalin on his governance style

Telugu film star and political leader has complimented Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on his governance style.

In his message, late on Tuesday, the Telugu ‘Power Star’ tweeted, “Your governance and party functioning style are the role model and inspiring, not just in your state, but for all the states and political parties in the country. My compliments to you.” The message in Telugu and Tamil languages was addressed to Stalin.

The tweet, comes after a long time, from the usually reticent politician whose Jana Sena Party is in a tie-up with the BJP. The alliance is trying to position itself as an alternative to the ruling YSRCP and the opposition TDP in Andhra Pradesh.

However, Pawan Kalyan’s observation at the beginning of his message to Stalin sounds intriguing. “Any political party can play politics to come to power, but not after coming to power. You have proved this with your actions, not words,” he begins cryptically.

His tweet comes after quite some time and has netizens agog with curiosity over the intent and timing of the message. While political players are yet to respond on Pawan Kalyan’s message,

Some quarters are interpreting it as a salvo at the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy who is being accused of political vendetta against his rival TDP.

Stalin had led the DMK to power in Tamil Nadu after being in the opposition benches for ten years. He has recently completed hundred days in his maiden stint as chief minister of the state.
