Legal notice issued to Sai Dharam Tej in bike accident case

Telugu actor Sai Dharam Tej received a legal notice regarding his bike accident that took place on Durgam Cheruvu in Hyderabad earlier in September.

A case under section 912 of CrPC was registered, as per Cyberabad Commissioner of Police Stephen Ravindra, while disclosing the crime report of Cyberabad on Monday.

The Commissioner of Police said that the actor was asked to submit his documents – driving licence, RC, insurance, and pollution papers. The actor failed to submit his documents, which has landed him in trouble.

“So far, we haven’t received any response from the actor and a charge sheet will be filed if there is no reaction from the actor,” Ravindra said.

Sai Dharam Tej, who has acted in movies like ‘Supreme’, ‘Subramanyam For Sale’, ‘Winner’, and others, had met with an accident in September. The actor managed to survive the near-fatal accident.

The actor landed in a private hospital, and it took him more than a month to recover from the injuries caused by the accident.

The commissioner also conveyed that around 759 people lost their lives in road accidents in 2021.

“However, the number of deaths decreased compared to last year. There were 212 accidents caused by drunk driving, and fines of Rs 4.5 crore were collected during the drunk driving inspection,” Stephen said.

“Moreover, 9,981 licences were suspended for driving under the influence of alcohol,” the Commissioner informed.

Hindi audiences connected with the realism in ‘Pushpa: The Rise’: Allu Arjun

Actor Allu Arjun is pleased as punch with his maiden theatrical release in Hindi.

Almost two weeks into its release in five languages — Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi — ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ continues to bring in the crowds to the theatres.

“It’s my first Hindi theatrical release. It’s definitely far more beyond my expectations. When we released the movie, we didn’t have much expectations. It is more like testing the waters. I’m so glad that we got it right in the first shot. It’s been amazing that we got our first shot right,” Allu Arjun told in interview.

Known for the classy urban look that he cultivated over the years, Tollywood’s stylish star, as Allu Arjun is known, surprised everyone by opting for a rustic role in his first foray outside the south Indian languages market.

Although ‘Pushpa’ is his first offering to Hindi audiences, Allu Arjun is a known face, thanks to dubbed versions of his movies which are very popular in north India. His choice of movie and role was not a gamble, Arjun emphasises.

“I always keep experimenting with my looks for every film. This film is definitely very different from anything that I have done before. I was looking at it as a huge opportunity to do something very new. I absolutely didn’t look at it as a risk. In fact, I was looking at it as the USP of the film. We were banking on the look for this film. I knew if we get it right, it’ll be the USP of the film. We put a lot of effort to get it right. So, I think the credit goes to the director for bringing such a canvas and to get it right, and giving me full freedom to experiment as much as I wanted to,” Arjun said.

‘Pushpa: The Rise’, which was released on December 17, has managed to bring in the audiences to theatres, despite the release of ’83’ on December 24. And Arjun feels that the realism in ‘Pushpa’ has worked its magic across audiences in India.

“I can’t comment on ’83’ because I haven’t seen the movie yet. What worked for ‘Pushpa’, I think, is that it’s a mass film set in a very natural screenplay. I think that works for the audience. It has a very realistic treatment of a commercial film. So I think the realism connected across many other languages. When it is realistic, it has a more universal appeal. I think the realism in the film has caught the people’s imagination,” the actor said.

‘Bigg Boss 15’: Pratik calls Rakhi ‘biased’; Tejasswi, Karan again get into blame game

Tejasswi Prakash and Karan Kundrra were seen sorting out their differences in the ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ episode of ‘Bigg Boss 15’. But it seems their dispute is not coming to an end.

While Tejasswi nominates Rashami, Karan nominates Abhijit. This infuriates Tejasswi and she argues with Karan. She says: “If you are playing to save Rashami, then I am not okay with it.” Tejasswi feels that Karan nominated Abhijit Bichukale to save Rashami from nomination.

On the other hand, Rakhi continues to wield the power of ‘sanchalak’ in the ‘Snowman task’ that leaves everyone annoyed.

Pratik targets Umar to keep him out of the game, but Rakhi takes a questionable call by keeping him safe against the rules.

Pratik fights with Rakhi as he is not happy with her biased approach, but Rakhi taunts him by saying he is afraid of Umar. She concludes her argument saying: “My decision is final.”

‘Bigg Boss 15’ airs on Colors.

Ram Charan and I are proud to bring back stardom on screen: Jr NTR on ‘RRR’

Telugu star Jr NTR is geared up for the release of director S.S. Rajamouli’s epic ‘RRR’, co-starring Ram Charan, and he shares his thoughts on the film.

The ‘Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava’ actor, who has been quite busy promoting ‘RRR’ had an exclusive chat with IANS.

Jr NTR explains how Rajamouli has evolved as a filmmaker.

Having worked with Rajamouli when he was just getting started, Jr NTR believes that Rajamouli has only grown hungrier to make more movies of great significance.

“The success quotient of S.S. Rajamouli has become exponentially bigger. His vision has become a macro-scale. But, as a person, he is still the same ‘Jakkanna’ to me,” Jr NTR said.

Ram Charan’s plays Alluri Seetharama Raju, which has a few cinematic references. But, for Komaram Bheem played by Jr NTR, there is no single reference about the character.

When quizzed about the same, Jr NTR said, “It is true that Komaram Bheem has no cinematic references.”

“We all grew up hearing the stories about these heroes. We all would have imagined a figure and its characteristics, right? For a Rajamouli movie, you have to undo almost every detail you ever have imagined or assumed.”

He further explained, “So, even though there is a reference, we have to undo those details.”

“So, it was totally Rajamouli’s imagination that you will see on the screen. Only the characters are real, the story surrounding them is totally fictional. We did multiple workshops together, to get into the skin of the characters.”

Jr NTR explains that Rajamouli has imbibed realistic features of the ‘Gond Veer’ Komaram Bheem, while the story is completely fictional.

On being asked about his bond with Ram Charan and their director complaining about their ‘pointless brawls’ on the sets of ‘RRR’, Jr NTR said they had a well-grounded explanation.

“When we have such a big project we are working on, everything gets intense on the sets. As I am an intense person myself, I get deeply engrossed in the work.”

“So, it is legit that we have such fun-filled breaks,” he said.

Jr NTR further explained, “There were times where we all used to break out in laughter. As Ram Charan and I were friends from earlier times, there were no boundaries.”

“We had to take breaks because the pressure of working for a mammoth venture, needs to be in equilibrium.”

“There are a lot of inhibitions for the actors to come together to make movies. I am proud to say that Charan and I have worked together to bring back the lost culture of two big stars working together for a movie.”

“The first two minutes will be Ram Charan’s and NTR’s individual fans watching the movie. But, the third minute, it is the movie fan, the audience, leaving behind the fandom”, Jr. NTR said, when he talks about their individual fandoms.

On January 7, ‘RRR’ will hit the screens. Jr NTR plays Komaram Bheem, while Ram Charan plays Alluri Seetharama Raju.

‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ swings past $1bn mark in just 12 days

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” on Sunday became the first pandemic-era movie to leap past $1 billion at the global box office after 2019’s “Star Wars: the Rise of Skywalker”.

The third film in the Tom Holland-led trilogy achieved this feat despite the lengthening shadow of Omicron and the Covid-19 spike across North America and Europe, and still not having been released in the world largest cinema-going market, China, according to ‘Variety’.

It is also this year’s top-grossing film, streaking past China’s “The Battle at Lake Changjin” ($902 million) and the 25th James Bond film (and Daniel Craig’s last outing as 007), “No Time to Die”, which has grossed $774 million globally.

Sony’s comic-book epic, according to ‘Variety’, has reached the milestone in a near-record 12 days, tying with 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” as the third-fastest film to reach the billion-dollar benchmark.

Only 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War” and 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame” were quicker, smashing the coveted tally in 11 and five days, respectively.

Reporting these figures, ‘Variety’ commented: “Those are huge box office receipts at a time when several new films (such as ‘The Matrix Resurrections’, ‘Sing 2’ and ‘The King’s Man’) are opening nationwide to notable ticket sales.”
