Twitter flooded with jokes, memes post Meghan-Harry interview

Twitterati not surprisingly had a field day on Monday, after the much-publicised interview of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with Oprah Winfrey, with jokes and memes trending all through the day.

Many joked about the fact how “the firm”, as revealed by Prince Harry, cut his allowances and refused to give him money, while Prince Andrew, the Queen’s son, who has been accused of pedophilia, linked with Jeffrey Epstein, continues to get the royal treatment.

The popular British series, “The Crown”, which has been chronicling the life of British Royalty ever since the time of Queen Elisabeth II, not surprisingly, featured in many of the memes.

Some memes even suggested Netflix cast Meghan Markle as herself on the award-winning show.

In the interview, Meghan and Harry have claimed they endured many ordeals while trying to live as a part of the Royal family after their marriage in 2018, and their decision to step down as members of the Royal family.

Closer to home, in India as well, the interview saw many Indian users poke fun at the subconscious racism and misogyny present in the UK.

Earlier in the day, actress-talk show host Simi Garewal was trolled after she criticized Meghan and called her “evil”.

Priyanka Chopra: My family is my greatest blessing

Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas shared a picture dressed in a sweater knitted by her mother Madhu Chopra, adding that her family is her greatest blessing.

Priyanka posted a picture on Instagram. In the image, she is seen wearing a white turtleneck sweater and black pants. She completes the look with her hair tied up.

“My mother knitted this sweater for me while she’s been here in London. My family is my greatest blessing. So happy to be reunited,” Priyanka wrote as the caption.

Her picture currently has 1.2 million likes.

Priyanka on Sunday had announced her own restaurant in New York, which offers Indian cuisine for foodies.

Priyanka features in the recently released digital film “The White Tiger”. The Ramin Bahrani directorial stars Adarsh Gourav and also features Rajkummar Rao in a pivotal role.

Nimrat Kaur starts shooting for ‘Dasvi’

Actress Nimrat Kaur took to Instagram to share with fans that she has started shooting for her film Dasvi. The actress plays the role of Bimla Devi in the film.

She posted a picture of her in a sari, with folded hands. Her Hindi caption stated it was the first day of Bimla Devi on the set of Dasvi. “#HappyWomensDay!” she added.

Nimrat had shared the first look of the film a few weeks back.

The film also stars Yami Gautam, who plays the role of an Haryanvi IPS officer in the film. Abhishek Bachchan will also be part of the film. He plays the role of Gangaram Choudhary in the film.

The comedy film has been directed by debutant director Tushar Jalota and produced Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and Jio Studio. The film is being shot in Agra.

Nimrat shot to fame with her act in The Lunchbox in 2013 and also impressed in the 2015 Akshay Kumar release, Airlift. The actress was seen on international shows such as Homeland and Wayward Pines, and will next be seen in the Aanand L. Rai directorial Atrangi Re, co-starring Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan, and Dhanush.

Gabrielle Union: I fell into something so dark in December it scared me

Hollywood actress Gabrielle Union recently opened up about having suicidal thoughts over the years.

“I’ve had so many rock bottom moments as an adult, starting with being raped at 19 at gunpoint at my job,” Union said in a conversation with actress Gwyneth Paltrow on Goop Health Virtual Summit, according to People magazine.

“It just felt like every so many year there was some major catastrophic event that was happening in my life. You know, divorce, career setbacks, relationship issues. There’s always something that just lands you on your ass and you’re like ‘There’s no way I can move on from this, I’ll never recover, I’ll never be the same,” the 48-year-old Union added.

She also revealed hitting a new low last year, following a fight with her husband, basketball player Dwayne Wade.

“I fell into something so dark in December that it scared me,” she said, but therapy helped her navigate through the crisis.

“Separating the symptoms from who you really are… to say that it’s a challenge, I don’t think I really have the words, or I lost them, to describe what these last few months have been,” she added.

Rani Mukerji inspired ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ star Sharvari to be an actress

Actress Sharvari forays Bollywood with “Bunty Aur Babli 2” later this year, and she credits Rani Mukerji, her senior co-star in the film, for her entry into showbiz. Sharvari says watching Rani’s films on screen was what motivated her.

Kartik Aaryan’s Monday ride amid ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ shoot

kickstarted his Monday with a bike ride during the shoot of his upcoming film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.

Kartik posted a picture on Instagram, where he is seen standing in front of a bike.

“Let us go for a morning ride #BhoolBhulaiyaa2 #Shoot,” Kartik wrote as the caption.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a horror-comedy also starring Kiara Advani and Tabu. It is all set to hit the theatres on November 19.

The Anees Bazmee directorial follows the 2007 horror-comedy hit Bhool Bhulaiyaa, which starred Akshay Kumar, Shiney Ahuja, Vidya Balan, and Ameesha Patel.

Actress Urvashi Rautela feels every industry needs more representation of women so that progressive change comes along.

On International Women’s Day, the actress said: “We need women’s representation that reflects all women and girls in all their diversity and abilities, and across all cultural, social, economic, and political situations. Drug peddler linked to SSR probe arrested in Goa

Panaji, March 8 (Telugu Bullet) Three persons, including one Maharaj Shah, who is allegedly linked to the drug probe following the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput last year, have been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau officials in Goa, an official said on Monday.

Two foreign nationals, residing in the North Goa coastal belt have also been arrested, the NCB official said.

“We have arrested one Maharaj Shah from Miramar in Panaji and two foreign nationals as part of our raids,” the official said, adding that large quantities of drugs have also been seized as part of the Bureau’s operation.

The NCB is expected to issue a formal statement, later in the day, on the simultaneous raids which have been conducted by the central agency since Sunday.

The NCB has been tasked with probing the allegations of drug abuse, linked to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, who hanged himself in June 2020 in his rented Bandra flat in Mumbai.
