Kevin Hart ‘lied’ about extent of car crash injuries

Actor-comedian Kevin Hart says he lied about the extent of his pain following the horrific car accident last year.

Hart recalled the accident and the extent of it in Joe Rogan’s podcast, reports ew.com.

He was in the passenger seat when he was involved in a car crash in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda in Los Angeles on September 1 last year. He fractured his spine in three places and had to undergo major surgery.

The comedian said he had “the biggest cry” in his life after coming home from the hospital.

“My biggest cry in life came from the first day that I came home from the hospital because I never had to see that house again. Like there was an option of me never seeing that home again. There was an option of me never walking on that driveway again. There was an option of me never seeing my wife and my kids again,” he said.

Hart felt lucky to be alive after the accident.

“I lied in the hospital because I didn’t want them to know that I was having pain because I thought that they were gonna stop me from letting me continue to try my walks,” he said.

He said by the time he was in the hospital for seven days, he was using a walker and pretending he was using his feet.

“It took two and a half weeks for him to start walking again without the walker,” Hart said, adding that he shouldn’t have done that so early.

“I’m giving the perception that it’s better than what it is, and I had the back brace on.”

His family’s love and support helped him in the recovery.

“My son doubled as a nurse, my daughter doubled as a nurse, (my wife) Eniko doubled as it. My brother came. That’s when the care about what was important really changed … the things that you think are important, you get to looking around at a hospital, almost four walls — none of that s**t that you think is important is in there. It’s one of these people,” he said.

Earlier in an interview with IANS, Hart shared that he found a new meaning to life after the horrific car accident. The actor-comedian said that he realized that nothing in life is guaranteed, and that makes him stay “more present” for his family and friends.

“Life and your perspective change as you grow old,” Hart told IANS when asked how did perspective of life changed for him after the near-fatal car crash.

“As you grow old, you understand and you appreciate…You have a different understanding of what you had before. It makes you (stay) more present with the ones you love, the ones who mean the most from friends to family…You understand that nothing in life is guaranteed. It doesn’t have to be like that… So take every second in,” added the “Jumanji: The Next Level” star.

Prabhas’ next film tells a unique story

0

Recently there was speculation that Radha Krishna Kumar’s Prabhas, Pooja Hegde and Bhagyashree starrer #Prabhas20 will have multiple music composers like Saaho did. While it was initially announced that music composer Amit Trivedi will be composing the music for this one, reports now suggest otherwise. However there has been no confirmation from the filmmakers and fans seem to be getting anxious to know more.

Many take to social media since Saturday to request an update. The fans proclaim to want at least the title of the film to be announced. #Prabhas20 was initially titled Jaan, however upon Dil Raju’s request, they let go of the title for his 96 Telugu remake to be named Jaanu. A new title hasn’t been announced for the film yet and it remains to be seen what it’ll be named.

Earlier in April, when fans had done the same, asking for updates about the film on social media, the production house had made it clear that due to the on-going pandemic, all work has been halted and keeping in mind the current situation, they would not like to provide any updates. They had written, “We are amidst a global pandemic and many lives are at stake due to the current situation. Owing to the current situation, we have paused all our activities. After all this is over, we promise to come up with many more updates.

Prabhas’ next film after Saaho is touted to be a periodic film that tells a unique story. Nothing much about the film is known as despite giving interviews during lockdown Pooja Hegde and Bhagyashree have remained mum about the film. The film’s shoot was in progress in Georgia when pandemic hit and the team returned back to India without completing the schedule. There’s speculation that Bhagyashree will be playing either Prabhas or Pooja’s mother in the film, however that remains to be seen. Prabhas will also soon be working with Nag Ashwin for a film.

With his social media post, Akshay also shared a picture where he is seen sharing a moment with the late sportsman.

“Saddened to hear about the demise of hockey legend #BalbirSingh ji. I have had the good fortune of meeting him in the past, such an amazing personality! My heartfelt condolences to his family,” Akshay wrote.

A three-time Olympic gold medallist, Balbir Singh Senior died this morning at a private hospital in Mohali. The 96-year-old was undergoing treatment at Fortis Hospital Mohali and was in a “semi-comatose condition”. He was hospitalized on May 8 with high fever and breathing trouble. His COVID-19 test had come negative.

“Nanaji passed away this morning,” his grandson Kabir said in a statement.

In January last year, Balbir Singh Senior was discharged from PGI after spending more than 100 days in the hospital, where he underwent treatment for bronchial pneumonia.

The legendary center-forward was part of the Indian teams that won gold at the 1948 London Olympics, Helsinki 1952 and Melbourne 1956.

When Hema Malini, Roopa Ganguly failed to recognise Nitish Bharadwaj

0

Actor Nitish Bharadwaj went down memory lane and recalled how actresses Hema Malini and Roopa Ganguly were left surprised by his look in “Vishnu Puran”.

Nitish had played the different avatars of Lord Vishnu in the 2000 TV show “Vishnu Puran”.

Recalling an incident, the actor mentioned: “I remember one time, when the scenes of Lord Parshurama were being shot and those episodes had not gone on air yet, I was sitting on the sets of ‘Vishnu Puran’ in proper avatar. Roopa Ganguly, who at that time was pursuing her career in Bengali cinema, had come to Mumbai to meet Ravi Chopra and me.

“She kept on searching for me while sitting right next to me, unaware of my presence. I deliberately did not speak to her. It was only 30 minutes later when she asked Ravi Chopra for me, did she realise she was sitting beside me all this while and it took Roopa by surprise.”

Talking about another incident, Nitish said: “The same thing also happened when I travelled with Hema Maliniji on a flight. Talking to me about the character, she wondered how Raviji had managed to find an actor to play Parshurma, whose eyes resembled mine. She obviously didn’t seem to recognise that I was, in fact, the actor who played the role and so, I decided to play along and told her that Raviji had to audition almost 50-60 actors. It was only a week later that she called me and playfully taunted me for putting her on the spot.”

Adding further, he said: “I believe the personality of Parshuram’s character along with his appearance and voice was so different that it was really hard to fathom that I could essay such an angry and violent role after having played the calm and composed Krishna.”

“Vishnu Puran” will have a re-run on television. It will now air on Zee TV, starting from May 25.
