Siriella Doraiswamy, 33, was given a 10-year prison sentence by the Proddatur Second Additional District Judge Court on Friday for hacking his paternal uncle to death on June 23, 2017, while under the influence of alcohol.
In Proddatur town, Kadapa district, Doraiswamy was fighting with his wife while intoxicated. Attempting to calm him down was G. Sudhakar, his paternal uncle. But Sudhakar was attacked by Doraiswamy, who stabbed him with a sharp knife. In the hospital, Sudhakar passed away two days later.
Following the registration of a case by the Proddatur police, Doraiswamy was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison and a fine of Rs 50,000 by the Second ADJ Court of Proddatur. Kadapa SP Siddarth Kausal expressed gratitude to the police team for successfully establishing the accused’s guilt and obtaining a conviction.
