Key Features of the PM Internship Scheme
Under the PM Internship Scheme, each intern will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000. In addition to this, after successfully completing the one-year program, interns will be given a lump sum payment of Rs 6,000 as an extra benefit from the government.
The official website for the scheme went live on Thursday, marking the beginning of this pilot project.
Reservation Policies for SC/ST/OBC Candidates
The government has also ensured that reservation policies will be adhered to under the PM Internship Scheme. Candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) will benefit from reserved positions in the internship program, promoting inclusivity and equal opportunities.
