US Secretary does not like dealing with Pakistan, he says “Yes, I don’t enjoy that”.
He recently shared about America’s relationship with the South Asian Country has drifted over the years. He noted that the two nations need to restore the ties to “one of the common interest”. If you are asking me about dealing with Pakistan, I don’t enjoy that, says Tillerson in response to a specific query during a town hall with the State Department employees here. This remark of his came as a response to a question posed by a State Department employee, who asked: “Is it fair to ask and say do you enjoy your job as secretary of state?”
Mr. Tillerson said Pakistan is still an important and valued partner of the United States. But over the last decade, the relationship has drifted, and we’ve got to bring this relationship back to the common interest. But things are not just the same, he told the State Department, Colleagues.
Mr. Tillerson also said that they are engaging in very frank discussions with Pakistan over the concerns we have about their own stability and their future. The threat they are under by allowing terrorist organizations to operate in their territory is something we look into seriously, he concluded.
