#meeToo Movement creating ripples all around the Bollywood circles. In the wake of sexual harassment and attack claims levelled by movie producer and writer Vinta Nanda on Sanskaari actor Alok Nath, news has surfaced that the lead actor of TV serial Tara, Navneet Nishan, sued Nath for Rs 1 crore in 1994. The actor also asserted that Nath had bothered her for a time of four years.
Navneet substantiated Vinta Nanda’s account, that blames Alok Nath for the sexual misdemeanour. Expressing that she supports every man or man who is supporting themselves in the #MeToo movement, she stated, “I managed the four-year badgering by slapping the man being referred to, and it is done and cleaned. l endured the loss of the show and was additionally disgraced by the man through media and I endured that.”
On Monday, writer Vinta Nanda posted on Facebook the record of her supposed rape by the ‘Sanskaari’ father of Indian TV, that happened just about two decades prior. In the post, she composed, “He was after my lead girl. She was not interested in him. He was alcoholic, shameless and obnoxious but he was also the television star of that decade, so not only was he forgiven for all his bad behaviour, but many of the guys would egg him on to be his worst. My lead female actor was being harassed by him.”
To responding on this allegation, Alok Nath stated that “Neither I am denying this nor I would agree with it. It (rape) must have happened, but someone else would have done it. Well, I do not want to talk much about it as for the matter if it has come out, it will be stretched.”
