A woman reported to the Maheshwaram police that a guy who had pledged to marry her had duped and sexually assaulted her.
The police claim that the suspect, Sampath Kumar, 27, and the 25-year-old woman were acquaintances as they lived in the same neighborhood.She agreed to his proposal when he made it. They have met several times since then. She said that after he promised to marry her, he repeatedly took advantage of her sexually.
Samapth Kumar began avoiding her recently when she asked him to marry, and he also declined her proposal. On November 1, he supposedly made amends with another woman.
The victim’s complaint led to the booking of a rape and cheating case, and the search is on for the accused.
