Slogans chanted and a huge crowd that gathered in front of the India Today office halted the traffic saying “Band Karo band Karo Aaj Tak band karo”!!

One must be wondering what exactly must have happened?  Actually, the mob wanted an apology from the well-known Indian journalist, editor, anchor, and media personality Rohit Sardana, who recently joined his duties in Aaj Tak, hosted a debate show, “Dangal” for his tweet as he discussed film “Sexy Durga”.

Earlier, the Shia Muslims put out a statement asking Rohit to apologize in front of the camera within 48hrs. They demanded his immediate arrest, making allegations on his twitter post. They said his tweet was “blasphemous” which means ungodly, basically disrespectful towards God or sacred things.

He even apologized for his tweet if it hurt any one’s sentiments but his question basically was how anyone can name a film, using a word ‘sexy’ with the sacred name of goddess “Durga”, it can hurt the feelings of the Hindus who are worshippers of the goddesses. Till here, everything is fine, but his tweet on why the word “sexy” is used only to Hindu goddess and not on other religious Gods. Will it be accepted?

He alleged to have received numerous threat calls from unknown numbers, very intimidating and threatening him, prompting to ask Uttar Pradesh Police to take action.

The protests were organized by Anjuman – E – Imamia carried out a march from Masjid – E – Haskan to Aaj Tak’s office condemning Rohit’s comments against Holy Prophet, his wife, and daughter and also Immaculate Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.
