Vasco De Gama Patna Express Derailed

The Indian Railways is being continuously haunted by accidents and mishap this year. In the latest incident, the Vasco De Gama Patna Express derailed at the Manikpur Railway Station in Chitrakoot District, Uttar Pradesh. The accident left at least 3 people dead and over 100 injured. The incident took place at 04:18 am today (24th November 2017) morning. 13 Coaches have derailed in this accident.
The accident comes to light in less than 12 hours after a Bolero Car was involved in a collision with a passenger train near Lucknow. 4 were killed in this accident.
‘Soon after the accident, the medical train reached the spot by 05:20 am. Rescue and relief operations are underway. Injured people have been already admitting in the nearby local hospitals for first aid and immediate medical attention’, said Anil Saxena, PRO, Indian Railways.
The Allahabad Railway Zone Divisional Manager already reached the spot. The General Manager of the NCR Railway Zone is on his way to the spot.
The officials stated that an inquiry has been laid into the accident. A large number of locals participated in the rescue and relief operations.
