The land scam in Vishakhapatnam has become a state-wide topic. Thousands of crores worth lands have been illegally transferred to the officers’ near and dear. The ACB has arrested Gedhela Lakshman Rao, Assistant Director of Land Survey Inspection, Vijayanagaram.
The ACB officials told the corrupted officer amassed properties worth 200 crores during the last 4 years. ‘He has been suspended four times in the past on the counts of corruption and bribery. Even now he is ‘Suspension.’ The market value of his properties is around 200 crores, while according to the documents it is 7.30 crores.’
The officer locked himself up in the penthouse on a tip of that ACB officials were about to raid his house. The ACB officials took the help of the local police to break the penthouse lock and arrest the corrupted officer. Lakshman Rao is one among of the important people in the Vizag Land scam.
When the ACB tried to take him into custody, his family members threatened them with dogs. Lakshman Rao has been suspended 4 times in his service of 35 years. He was suspended 3 times on the charges of ‘corruption’ and ‘disproportionate’ assets.
