20,000 Sexual Assault cases registered against the US Armed Forces

The report has been provided by the Department of Defence’s SAPRO – Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office on Friday. According to the report, the US Army had the highest number of cases against them. A record of 8284 cases was filed against the US Army. The number of cases against Marine Corps was 3400, against the Air Force were 3876 and against the Navy were 4788.
The Pentagon observed the steep increase in people experiencing sexual assaults from 25% to 32% in 2013-2015 and 2016 years respectively.
The San Antonio based reported the highest number of sexual assaults with 881. The US Army holds the most number of sexual assault cases than any other country currently serving in the Afghanistan areas.
From 2013, Pentagon allowed the victims to seek legal help without reporting the sexual assault incident to the police and their command.
