After successfully completing their training at the AP Police Academy (APPA) in Anantapur, the 28 recently hired DSPs are scheduled to take part in a passing out parade on Monday.
At the Police Training Centre (PTC) in Anantapur, they practiced on Sunday afternoon.
Chief guests for the event would be DGP Rajendranath Reddy and Home Minister Taneti Vanitha, according to PTC Principal Venkatrami Reddy.
Following the state’s split, this is the third group of DSPs to graduate from APPA. The academy was formerly housed in Hyderabad, but after the state was split, Telangana acquired the whole infrastructure.
There isn’t now a functioning police academy in Andhra Pradesh. APPA is currently operating out of the Anantapur PTC.
The location of the state government’s permanent police academy has not yet been decided. It will be installed in Mangalagiri or Anantapur. For the academy, about ninety acres of land in the Anantapur district have been identified near Kurugunta.
