A gang of three successfully duped around 30 Cricketers by promising them a place in any of the IPL franchise teams. The incident took place in the financial capital of India, Mumbai. The complaint was filed by the coach against the gang of three.

‘The three individuals claimed to be in-charge for a talent hunt for one of the IPL team. I came in contact with them in August 2013. They promised a place in the IPL team if each cricketer paid a sum of Rs 5 lakhs to Rs 7 lakhs.

30 cricketers paid 68 Lakhs in total. The payments took place from August 2013 to December 2014. With no player getting a chance to play in the IPL even after one year, I choose to register a case against them with the police,’ said the coach.

The three members stated that they were owners of a cricket club. Mumbai police finally nabbed the gang. In the investigation, it was learnt that the three have duped other aspiring cricketers too. The three were identified as Dinesh More, 25, Jeevan Mukadam, 30, and Vijay Borate,40 – from Thane
