The much-awaited Kannada fantasy action drama 45 brings together three powerhouse performers—Shiva Rajkumar, Upendra, and Raj B. Shetty—in lead roles. The film also marks the directorial debut of celebrated music composer and singer Arjun Janya, making it one of the most talked-about projects in Sandalwood.
Originally slated for release on August 15, 2025, the film was postponed due to delays in post-production. However, fans now have reason to cheer, as Shiva Rajkumar officially announced that 45 will hit theatres worldwide on December 25, 2025, as a grand Christmas release. Interestingly, no other major Kannada film has yet been announced for the festive date, giving 45 a strong solo run at the box office.
A Pan-India Release with Tough Competition
While the film is set for a massive PAN-India release, it will face stiff competition in other industries. In the Telugu market, Adivi Sesh’s Dacoit is eyeing the same festive window, while in Hindi, Alia Bhatt’s Alpha will be locking horns with 45.
A Story Rooted in Faith & Philosophy
Reports suggest that the inspiration behind 45 comes from the personal tragedy of Arjun Janya, who lost his brother during the COVID-19 pandemic. The movie is said to revolve around the 45 days after a person’s death, a crucial phase in Sanatana Dharma that decides whether the soul moves to the afterlife or is reborn.
