In the Mumbai building fire, 60 people were saved and one was hurt.
A major fire broke out in a congested area of Zaveri Nazar in South Mumbai early on Friday, resulting in the rescue of approximately 60 residents. The incident occurred in an old six-story building on Dhunji Street while people were asleep around 1:30 a.m.
Mumbai Fire Brigade teams swiftly arrived at the scene to combat the flames, which had spread to all floors of the building. As a safety measure, residents were evacuated using the staircase of a neighboring building, even as parts of the building’s ceiling and stairway began to collapse.
One individual, identified as Parag Chakankar, sustained minor injuries in the fire but received treatment and was subsequently released. After nearly six hours of battling the blaze, firefighters finally managed to extinguish it around 8 a.m. on Friday. Cooling operations are currently underway.
