The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce recently convened a key meeting under the leadership of its president D. Suresh Babu to address ongoing concerns between producers and exhibitors.
Following the discussions, senior producer C. Kalyan announced the formation of a 15-member committee comprising equal representation from producers, distributors, and exhibitors. This panel will steer the reform process ahead.
He also shared that the industry is considering a shift to a percentage-based revenue-sharing model for theaters, moving away from the fixed rental system that has posed challenges for single-screen owners. The talks were constructive, with a collective commitment to resolving issues collaboratively.
According to him, the concerns are likely to be addressed within the next one to two months, ensuring a smoother path for upcoming releases such as Peddi.
