Aaron Finch, who was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for an impressive Rs 4.40 crore in the IPL 2020 Player Auction on Thursday, should have an interesting reunion with Virat Kohli.
Virat Kohli has had a testy relationship with several Australian cricketers. During India’s historic Test series triumph Down Under, Virat Kohli and Australian captain Tim Paine had to be separated by umpires when the two got involved in a heated argument.
Tim Paine was caught saying this to Aaron Finch on a stump microphone when he was trying to distract Rohit Sharma: “Too many Poms now, the (Rajasthan) Royals.” And then turning to Finch, Paine continues: You have played for every team now.”

Aaron Finch, who played for Kings XI Punjab in the 2019 IPL, replied: “Except Bangalore.”
Tim Paine, while running to the other end after the conclusion of the over, had chirped back to Finch: “Haven’t you got there? Virat doesn’t like you.” And Finch: “No one likes me, that’s why I keep moving.”
Aaron Finch, who is captain of Australia’s ODI and T20I teams, has played for as many as 7 different IPL teams. RCB will be his 8th in the Indian Premier League.
Royal Challengers Bangalore has never won the IPL and they had last made it to the final in 2016 when Virat Kohli led from the front and smashed several records.
Aaron Finch is expected to come in and bolster the top-order and for all you know, he might even walk out to open the innings with Virat Kohli.
